Advantage of Semester System1.   The greatest advantage of this system is that it reduces the load on the studentsand   Inculcates regular study habits.2.  Since academic year is divided into 2 semesters it provides upward mobility - the Student can clear the backlog in one or many subjects even after moving to the next   semester.3. Best part is that it enables the students to learn at their own pace.4. Well if you compare it to an annual system, it keeps students busy all year round with the same level of burden instead of the piling up of work at the end of the year.5. In semester system, Student all time attach with study. Studies which is good for the Students.6. The main advantage of semester system. Student busy all the year. He know, If he     Does not study, he will fail. >>   Easy learning >>   Attach with studies.>>   Remain in class>>   No absence.>>   Grip on knowledge.>>   Respect of teachers increases.>>   Scheduled work plan.Disadvantage of Semester SystemAs a disadvantage of the Semester system, I would point  out the lack of recovery that students can make due to limited time, in comparison to Annual systems.Time is too short in Semester system. Students don’t understand many chapters.

But in a semestered system, student gets a core subject like math for one semester and then doesn't have math again until the following year!!!  Lots of time for forgetting!

Well if you compare it to an annual system, it keeps students buzy all year round with the same level of burden instead of the piling up of work at the end of the year. Comparing it to a quarterly system it is more flexible and has a slower pace of studies which is good for the students. As a disadvantage of the Semister system, I would point out the lack of recovery that students can make due to limited time, in comparison to Annual systems.

Oh I hate semester system.
It is the worst thing to have. No fun or other studies are allowed.
If you are good enough, in quarter systems you can do lot of things and have a grate learning that is quite unforgeable.
Once I had a semester in which I had to study about 10 subjects with small no of credits(2credits). I remember nothing  now.
I also learnt one bigger subject with 5 credits and lecturer couldn't attend lectures and we were thought nothing. Also he didn't have time to recover his mistakes.
Then the worst thing is in my childhood I loved teachers, but in this stupid system I hate all the lectures who make us busy all the time.

You know we should have many ,different but lots of experiences to become a good and wise person who do less mistakes. So without sports, other annual events like exhibitions and concerts, vacations, part time jobs we just becomes dumbs like many lecturers in the university who only have one part of life(they thinks we should be the same like them and industry wants something different from that). So we should go back and should make a better place for future students.(I do not want to be a university lecturer anymore and it is up to you)

what is the point if someone can earn his credits at the last moment rather having a continuous learning and earn them.if he couldn't know how to write the paper at the year end it is his mistake. We should be able to plan the future not only for few months but for years. Short time planing mean you can only handle things in your hands.

The advantage is that it keeps the students and teachers busy throughout the course and so no cramming up the entire course or rather some selected questions overnight. Thus it serves the very purpose of College education.
The same thing can be disadvantage too.Being busy throughout college life in Cramming up with books means no enjoyment and hence no building up of personality. It is just an extension of school life. Here people study to pass, not to learn.
