You don’t say what age group this model is for and there are many different ways to make one for an earthquake science project, including highly technical ones including computers that actually make the model have tremors. The one I’m going to show you is really simple to do.

You will need a baking pan that is about eight inches by eight inches; a cup of water; a pot or a kettle; 12 ounces of powdered gelatin; a spoon; some plastic wrap; some scissors and a knife.

Pour the cup of water into the pot or kettle and bring to the boil. Pour the boiling water into the baking pan and stir in the gelatin powder. You will then need to refrigerate for about six hours until it has set.

Take a piece of plastic wrap that is about the same size as the baking pan and cut it in half. You then lie the two pieces down on a table so that they touch end to end.
Warm the gelatin on the stove just until you are able to remove it from the baking pan. When you can, put it on top of the plastic wrap, covering both pieces. You then need to cut the gelatin in half along the same line that you made in the plastic wrap.

Rub the two halves of gelatin together; the cut line represents an earth fault and you will be able to see the fault build up energy and imitate an earthquake. Depending on how creative you are, you could add to this very basic model by making tiny buildings from card or little sticks to show the damage that can be done to buildings when there is an earthquake.

Maybe you should get a vibrating back massages and then make a city on top of it and when you want the ground to look like a earthquake you press the button hope this helps

You can get some gelatin and have 2 halves, and then slide 1 pass the other and it plays as the plates going passed each other making a earthquake-like shake

Making a model for a science project that deals with earthquakes can be very interesting. You can use different ingredients that are easily available at home. See the link below for ideas on a model for earthquake projects:

We'll try to make a before and after model or you can get a piece of paper ct it straight in half then make buildings trees people e.t.c then put the two peices together then move one piece up and one down and it looks like the ground is moving.

Well you can make a box of rocks on a slant and let the rocks go then it will hit a wire and start a motor and shake cardboard and start shaking the model of houses at the bottom
