Green Algae- produce the food that maintains aquatic organisms and is responsible for 2/3rds of the worlds oxygen suple
Mosses-Helps convert rocks to soil for higher plants , soaks up water,pioneer plant and photosynthesizes
Ferns - Pioneer plant, photosynthesizes and is food for animals

I take it you had to do a four page report on this subject? I'm doing the same thing right now. Google "Ecological roles of green algae" and click the first link. That site is great. I know it probably doesn't help you much anymore but w/e :)
