What do you do with your phone at night? 1. Plug it in to a charger. 2. Leave it across the room. 3. Place it on a bedside table. 4. Cuddle it like a teddy bear? (Question courtesy of a Firefox user census.)

Mine sits on my dresser. I don't have a land line and with 3 kids, I like to have my phone available in case someone needs me in the middle of the night.

They're the way of the future. Cripes, when I started out only a couple of people in our street had phones and most of us still used telegrams or letters if we wanted to get in touch with somebody.

If the battery is below 80%, I'll plug it in to a charger, otherwise, I'll just leave it somewhere in my room.

If I'm home alone my phone  sleeps in bed with me incase an axe murderer climbs through my window .... I need to be able to call 911 .... Stat!  If I'm not alone it's usually left where ever it lands....then I have to call it from my land line to find it in the morning.

Good thinking. Those axe murderers come at the most inconvenient times. :(

Yeah they do ....I also keep a stiletto on my night stand so I can stab the axe murder in the eye with the heel before I call 911. Some day I'll buy a baseball bat but for now ....I gotta work with what I got.

Mine stays plugged in upside down on my dresser usually muted, sometimes I forget to mute it, those are the nights I get random texts!

Cell phone is in a drawer in the kitchen, where it usually stays and the land line is in it's charger in the living room. Far away as possible.

Mine's on my dresser, charging at night. In the morning, it wakes me up. I'm fortunate that no one tries to text me in the middle of the night!

I almost never get texts (wrong age group) so that's not a problem for me.

:D - I cut the landline a couple of years ago - so the only way to reach me is to bug me on my cell.

After my sister was in the hospital and I never knew when I was gonna get the "phone call" to get down to the hospital STAT, I have kept the habit of it being by my head.

Poor guy!!!!!! LOL!
The ONE night I actually needed it, I was too tired to go back down stairs to the car and get it out. I figured we only have a couple hours before the girls will wake us up for Christmas morning presents. I will get it then. When I got the phone there was multiple missed calls and three messages.... "Yin, she is going to Heaven! It is time to come down to the hospital and say good bye." "She needs to hear from her sister."
But then I think about all the times I DID have it by my head and it was needed! :0) I have had the same phone number since 2001! LOL!

That must have been shattering. Such a dreadful time not to have the phone. I'm so sorry.

My friend, thank you. Your kindness means a lot to me. :0) I did get to make it to the hospital. It was like she was "hanging on" till I told her I would be okay if she let go. (We were kind of like that with each other. Growing up everyone thought we were twins.) That was the hardest thing I ever had to say to some one. It took me Christmas day to get up enough nerve. I finally told her Christmas night. She went to Heaven the following morning.
