But if you wiped these ideologies out over a period of time and brought in new ones people would adapt, this is what I meant by the example I gave. People will generally accept what they are brought up with, either that or history shows that they will just wipe out whole groups of people and then tell it as something that was a good thing, or different to the truth, this is the advantage of time, generations, and tweaking, media advertising and programming. In one hundred years time, with gradual integration the next generation will be use to growing up with each other, and may may well share one culture and one religion, history shows this.

All that is required is for people of good will to come together and demand that our leaders work towards that goal.

And in other news:  Pigs fly!

Never in a million years.

The EEC was a great attempt at creating a commonwealth of nations but, even before Britain's withdrawal, it was full of problems. Many of those were economic but far deeper was the mistrust between the ordinary citizens of nations that had warred with each other for centuries.

The USSR was another attempt based on military coercion and economic idealism. ("From each according to his ability to each according to his needs" sounds great in theory but doesn't really work.)

Even the Romans failed. Sure, they established a powerful ruling government but were unable permanently to subdue their subject nations.

We're just too diverse to accept a single world government.

A bit of a stretch, Pea Nuts. No matter how we srruggle to hold the idea together the Roman Empire failed -- as all empires have eventually failed. But even empires aren't the same as a single world government.
