If you have to "defunkify" it.....hire someone else to do it! :)

In that case, a bucket, really hot water, Lysol....the real stuff in the brown bottle......and yellow rubber gloves, preferably the ones that go up to your elbows and some old clothes!

Well, the first thing you need is a bottle of wine. Pour yourself a glass of wine.

Strip the sheets off the bed; wash and dry them according to how you feel while you are gulping, er, sipping the wine.

Clean the floor - mop it or vacuum it.  Please note that if there are any pets around, they get to play with the instrument of terror first. Have some more wine - you won't care if you got all the dust motes or not.

Pick up all the funky clothes and throw them down the stairs - you will be aiming for the laundry room so have another sip of wine so your aim is true.

Shovel all dirty dishes into the sink for washing. You had some Chinese food several weeks ago and it has hardened like cement onto your favorite plate so some soaking would be in order. Sipping more wine while this is soaking is perfectly acceptable.

OK - look around. You've got the bed made, floor cleaned, clothes thrown at the laundry room and dishes are somewhere near the kitchen. Have some more wine - you deserve it!

Anything that's not made of wood or steel, throw in the middle of your bed. Wrap it all up in your sheets and throw out. Set off a Febreze bomb in the room and then put on new sheets. Ta-da, done.
