I don't think it will disappear, but it will "evolve."

Straw-man tactic because, yet AGAIN, you are unable to actually offer any kind of decent "Counter Point" to the discussion.
I love it when you try to act condescending . . . it shows you for who you are. . . . it shows everyone.
Care to try again, on the infallible Bible you believed LITERALLY as a child and even into your teens . . . now taken allegorically to maintain some semblance or tendril of hope in being in the realm of infallible . . .

This is not a discussion. I am simply pointing out your errors.

Pointing out errors?
You are unable to . . . you try . . . and you fail.

Unlikely:

Religion is a cultural system of behaviors and practices, world views, sacred texts, holy places, ethics, and societal organisation that relate humanity to what an anthropologist has called "an order of existence."

Well, religion isn't one thing. Parts of religion may slowly fade as human science and technology is ever-advancing. Me, I am an atheist, but over half of the world has at least a religion of some kind. Scientists all over the world have at least at some point tried to disprove god. I don't belive in god, but its impossible to DISprove god. No one has proved their exsistance, and I doubt they will, but I can't prove they don't. Just the same you can't disprove alien life.

"Scientists all over the world have at least at some point tried to disprove god" - Do you feel this is an accurate statement?
I only ask because it seems odd . . . I would think that "Disproving God" just happens because science has evidence that points away from a God Concept, but I have never heard of Someone calling themselves a scientist engaging in the pursuit of disproving any deities . . . maybe I am wrong.

Awright. Lemme clarify. I meant SOME scientists have. Not all.

I don't mean dedicating there life. I mean trying to show a LITTLE evidence that shows against it.

Factors regarding the reduction of religious beliefs depends upon the number children produced by the Theists versus the number children produced by the Atheists and Agnostics.

Then certain ratios regarding Indoctrination and segregation from secular establishments needs to be considered. The number of technological and Scientific advancements made that could sway those semi-free thinking next generation theists as well.

If religion starts to "fade" it will do so kicking and screaming with parents home schooling and sending children directly to Christian colleges . . .

I can picture it being a lot like the Mormons in having a smaller foot print (state) in our nation at the most . . .

Even some older religions still have believers  . . . Praying to Osiris and Zeus.

You indicated that others consider me a joke. If you care to clarify your remarks, Donald, here's your opportunity.

I'll wait until this is addressed to me if that is the case . . and here is literally an example of your condescending ways if that last comment was, indeed, for me.

Also, if this WAS supposed to be for me, it really couldn't get any clearer . . . so you must be Joking yet again.

I would like to point out here to thom jackson, that the asker said RELIGION. It doesn't always mean RELIGION = GOD.

Nope. Religion is not going extinct. Religion is spreading a lot faster than atheism and the world is mostly dominated by religion.

I am aware of your view of reality that you have demonstrated in your dialogues on here.

If you choose all of the constants in the general equation of the second degree of x and Y (Ax^2 + Bxy + Cy^2 + Dx + Ey +F = 0 ) then the equation becomes 0 = 0 and the problem goes away.

But no knowledge has been gained by that choice.

That's what that video reminds me of---another version of a kid who doesn't like math trying to make a case for how "silly" math is.

This math prof isn't at all intrigued.

Excellent Video Charles!

Thomas - Early man with limited knowledge of our natural surrounding would found that "Erring to the side of Caution" to be a much better way of ensuring we carry on our genetic code.

A rustling in the tall grass can be the wind or a Predator.
If one (who is primitive) always uses their survival instincts to always consider the rustling TO BE a predator . . . the chances of survival goes up quite a bit.
Early concepts of Gods/God were accepted on the same limited knowledge of our natural world and it's surrounding . . . and as more and more knowledge is acquired, the rational man no longer needs to "Hedge their bets" against Supernatural claims that USED to fill the unknown . . . .

If one were so inclined as to consider this STILL a thing for REAL survival in today's world . . you best get to worshipping ALL God concepts on the off chance that you are worshipping the incorrect one, whom holds the key to immortality.

"Interesting how every few months you come off as a closet "theist." . . . Thanks for that. You gave me a good laugh.
