I got 2 stupid tickets, one for expired inspection and the other for the air freshener around my mirror. They are minor but cost me over $200 each which I can't afford. Can I fight them?

What are you going to fight? You broke the law twice and I don't see any way to defend yourself against these infractions.

You could try. But if the both are true, you will lose. Then you will add court costs to the price of the tickets.

Where do you live that you can't hang an air freshener from your mirror? I would be in trouble there. I have mine hanging of Mardi Gras beads. There are several of them. Not that my car smells that bad, I have just kept them because I liked them. There is a shark, a dolpin, and a couple of flip flops.

Yep .. There's something stupid here alright .. But I'm think'n .. It's not just the tickets.

Perhaps you should pay closer attention to expiry dates or simply don't drive with an expired inspection .. And the laws that govern motor vehicles .. And you might not have to pay consequences. You chose to 'take your chances' .. And you lost.  Pay the fine.

Don't do the crime if you can't pay the fine!

FYI: You can always contest the ticket .. but you will need a really really really good excuse as to why you 1) drove your car with an expired inspection and 2)  have a stink'n airfreshner when you're not supposed to
