Late 1990s. I overtook a slow driver in a country town and hared off down the road. Shoulda waited till we were out of town. And I got caught.

In my state if you haven't been booked in the previous 10 years you can write in and request that your fine be waived because "it's not my normal way of driving" and most times, if you sound humble, they'll let you off.  That's what happened. Still, it went on my record as a warning and I wouldn't have got away with it again till my next 10 year period expired.

A little over a year ago and it cost $262 + $45 to take an online class to keep the points off my license. That ticket was for failure to obey a sign. If I had gotten the speeding ticket (it was a speed limit sign I didn't obey) it would have cost me $100 more.

About 8 years ago I got pulled over for speeding and I did get a ticket.

Edit: I forgot a couple months ago I was drinking a sarsaparilla and an officer thought I was drinking a beer but I didn't get a ticket then.

I've only received one and it was 10 years ago. I was on my way back from my daughter's tournament and was late for a dinner at my father in laws house. I was going about 92 mph. I got pulled over and he asked me if I knew how fast I was going, so I told him the truth. I guess he wasn't expecting me to tell the truth because he started belly laughing. He told me that he appreciated it enough that he was only going to put speeding at 70+ so I could go to traffic school.

That was the month that I got my first and only cavity too. December was a rough month 10 years ago.

One when I was a teenager---fought it and it was dismissed.

One parking ticket when I was in my early 30's.

Last stopped about 5 years ago---car comes up behind me out of nowhere; hits the bright headlights, and I bail to the right hand lane.

Emergency reaction, so "probably cause" to stop me.

I put the dome light on and put both hands on the wheel.

He was very disappointed when he approached the car.  He ran my licence and let me go.

(And by the way, you have a right to disobey the traffic laws in an emergency,  I wonder if that "probably cause" would have stood up in court?)

That's it in 71 years.  I just have never had a problems with the traffic rules and speed limits.

Last time was a few years ago .. On my motorcycle .. 11 clock at night on deserted county road .. For speeding. Cop asked me what I was doing and where I was going and I told him I was going to the next  town (about 10 more miles) to stay with a friend who lives there cause we were leaving for a girls road trip the next day. I was actually watching my speed for the most part, but I was cold and would tend to speed up .. Just wanted to get where  I was going. The cop warned me and told me to just slow down to the speed limit because of the wildlife dangers on that stretch of road... And let me go on my way.

About five years ago, I got pulled for doing 60 in a 35 zone when I was pulled. I was tired and wasn't paying attention to my speed. I simply told the truth, admitted I was at fault, and apologized. He let me off with a warning. Needless to say, I never sped again... In that area...

Actually pulled over? Uh, 1 mo. Before our 3rd daughter was born in 1981 with the 2 oldest girls in the back seat. I couldn't believe I was speeding, but oh well, I didn't protest. Yet, one of us had a guardian angel present because I got off for slightly speeding.  Or maybe it was because I silently cried.

Since then 2 speeding tickets, alone in the car, framed by a photo-trap, no getting outta it.

About 10 years ago, got pulled over for no current registration.  I had paid the money, but not bothered to get around to getting the Smog Check.  Was coming up to a stoplight and saw that I was going to be next to a cop, so slowed down and sort of drifted up as the light turned gree.  Apparently I look suspicios as he hung back and watched me.  As soon as he saw the expied tag on the turck, the lightsd came on.  Got a fix-it tickwet for that, got the smog check done, and paid the fine.
