No. If we always told the truth, it would be too hard to find a mate. The world's population would severely shrink.

Yes, seasoned with sugar, but we must used caution and discernment when "Speaking The Truth".  Many items 😉 don't need to be spoken, even if their the "Truth" as we perceive them.

Not if the truth causes another person unnecessary pain. It's a case by case basis.

Apparently in the USA they start putting their Xmas decorations up on Thanksgiving & leave them up until New Years. That's a great way for retailers to exploit Christmas shoppers.

It's a big day for retailers the world over. And it should be. They're in business to make a profit. Personally, I choose not to play. :)

That will be a bit of a dilemma when my daughter grows older. I'm not a overly religious person but the traditional catholic holidays like Xmas etc are no longer celebrated for the religious beliefs (Christ's birthday), they are just celebrated to receive presents & eat ridiculous amounts of food & get drunk.

It's a cop out!

It's really hard to say. I sometimes don't tell the truth because I don't want people to know how I'm truly feeling.

That's a Good point. I do too. I don't always want to tell people how depressed and sad, I am. Best keep some truths to yourself.

Hmm. So even though you don't like to smile you have no conscience about inflicting them on other people. There's a dark side to you, Ray.

No.  It depends on the situation.  You should tell the truth whenever you can, but sometimes it's all right to tweak the truth a little bit.  Like when you someone's gone to so much trouble to get you a gift, and they're really excited for it, but you don't like it as much as they thought that you would, I think it's all right to say that you love it if you don't want to hurt their feelings.  Or if someone's made plans and they're expecting you to go, but you really don't want to go, there's nothing wrong with saying that 'I would love to, but I can't because I have a very important appointment that I can't change'.

Of course, you should tell the truth whenever you can, like if you did something, or if you know something because it just makes it easier for everyone.

If someone asks you something, you should be as truthful as possible, without be hurtful. Other times you should just keep your mouth shut. For example I have an aunt who wears ugly shoes. She came into the store where I was working and bought new shoes. When she showed me the shoes, my response was they were great color and suited her. I was truthful without telling her the shoes were hideous.

Yes, but there are creative ways of telling it.

There are also ways of avoiding telling anything, hence you are not lying, this is important in circumstances which may cause unnecessary harm.

This lot got off and there was ample evidence against them:-

There were a lot of references on that page. Did they all get off by avoiding telling everything?

If they did tell everything, then it made no difference, some acts were caught on video camera and they still got off. Hence if the police can get off of murder, then there must be loopholes in the law system.
