Sure! Why not? I think I'll put a Chuck Berry CD in and listen to " My Ding A Ling" while I'm munching on a gingerbread house.

Poinsettias arrived here in the UK (as Christmas flowers) about 20 years ago. Another unwanted and newly-invented tradition. I'll go with the Ambrosia (which in the UK is a brand of creamed rice).
