I can't whistle although I've spent a lot of time trying. If I hum my kids make fun of me, so neither. So sad...

I whistle a lot, even though my mother hates when I do it.

Whistle. I whistle all day long, though sometimes it's the "quiet" airy kind rather than piercing whistling noise. But yeah, I'm annoying.

It's neither of them which I do A LOT.

However, comparatively I hum.......

I often get mocked by my mom for the same, occasionally, humiliated!

My younger brother prevents me from humming, like immitating my mom. Since childhood itself he has been exposed to the kinda behavior of my mom that I am someone who is making mistakes and he is someone she can discuss about. Although I am the one who is elder(six years elder). She has always been supportive to him (in rather biased way) as he is the youngest child. And parents have always been turning blind eye to his wicked behavior towards me. So he does it without any remorse or even moral limits. Whatever is disliked by parents, I got opposition from his side as well, even though he really had no problem with that. And the same behavior continues even when he is not child anymore...

Once upon a time, I aspired to be singer but I got such a huge discouraging atmosphere in the family.

Also, when I used to try to learn whistling (yea, I CAN NOT whistle) my mom always prevented me from doing so, saying it attracts evil souls. And when in later years, the same was started by my brother, she wasn't that much against it. And Ultimately he could learn to whistle (in fact, now he is pretty good at it. High intensity sound and variations) and I still can't.
