Does anyone think Christmas is a pain in the butt?

I don't.

Sometimes, it's the only day families come together and it brings ten of millions happiness.

Yeah, Megan, I do -- but I try to hide it from my family so they can enjoy the silly season. I'm just too old to be patient with all the BS. I used to enjoy it when the kids were small and all living at home.

Let me put it this way. It's meaningless to me and has been for many years.

I am so sorry you have that kind of pain. It's sad cuz we always feel bad for the "mom/woman" and the child but most of us never think what the dad might be going through. I hope one day when he is old enough, he will see the truth. Once again Zack I am sorry you hurt.

I personally don't like preparing months ahead of time for a holiday and paying for it months after. But it is what it is and when my whole family is together for an evening, it makes it all worthwhile.

It depends on how you decide to spend it. It's the one day a year the majority of serfs get off of work.

No, but we don't have a tree since our daughter grew up and left. I don't bake anymore so I won't pig out and gain weight. Hubs gets his cheese roll, flat bread crackers and becomes possessed. Then we can't be around each other so he is free to go fishing. Then I am free to do what I want! Washing, cleaning, filing and running back & forth to piecemeal post on the computer!

Tried to amend my "blurt" above but it was not posted. Don't think it's right because what I initially said does not give an accurate picture of me. I'll try again...It was not just the cheese and crackers that set him off. All holiday treats and food gifts aren't always compatible. It's taken me well over two decades to learn this.

The rest of the post deleted was about Christmas being a celebration for the birth of Christ and my remark about food combinations causing depression, fits of rage and even death... I believe a lot of deaths have occurred because of the food. Heart attacks, strokes, neurodenerative disease or bowel obstructions are acceptable but not looking for why they happen. There is usually always a cause...my redefining the FDA was also removed...it's only a matter of time before others will start realizing our food could be what's killing us.

Only the tons of traffic and finding parking part the weeks before Christmas. My kids have it good, they get dropped off by the entrances. My spouse and I switch turns finding parking.

Depends on my mood.  It's usually fun, but sometimes I get fed up with Christmas.  I'm glad it's over though.  I have spent the last week and a half preparing for Christmas non-stop.  I think I spent over 30 hours at the sewing machine making presents this past week, and my neck is killing me, and all my paintings were for Christmas presents (it was fun; I was able to focus more on one picture).  I can spend the remainder of the school holidays focusing on my near non-existent social life, getting ready for year 11(!) and sleeping in.

Ohyesssss, I think so too, all the shops are playing xmas songs, all the decorations are looking all the same, romantic lights, heavy coats, fake fur, no ma'am. The worst part is, all the bad guys turned into family guy for once a year and that's not cute!

The part that I enjoy the most is the counting days part lol I just need a new year tbh.
