Unique Hold

I have a problem. For some reason I can't control my smile around some people. It just comes out. It gets kind of awkward at times. How can I fix this?

I wouldn't consider this a problem. If you are smiling automatically, then you are subconsciously responding to their aura. There are people that I run across that will naturally make me smile when I see them because their attitude - the way they carry themselves - the way they smile and respond to other people - makes it so easy to respond in kind. It could be someone I don't even know, but there's something about that person that just makes me smile.

Consider yourself lucky. Smile and nod and move on with your day.

Smiling at someone can bring sunshine into their cloudy day. I smiled at a lady and didn't even realize I did until she said "Thank you for smiling at me! Nobody ever smiles anymore. It is refreshing and thank you again for smiling." She actually turned back around just to tell me that! It was very encouraging to know smiles don't go unnoticed. Keep being a sunshine! There is nothing wrong with you. ☺

I don't understand how this is a problem. I am a smiler.  I smile at almost everyone that I make eye contact with. Most smile back. I know I have had days that weren't very good and had someone smile at me and it would remind that things aren't that bad.

Another thing, I had a friend that would always smile when he saw me, or any of my family or friends. It always made me feel like he was genuinely glad to see me. That is a rare quality and a gift. I miss him. He passed away 3 years ago this month.

I am so sorry. That is rough. Especially when it's a rare quality you miss.
