How many of you believe that you receive signs from loved ones that have passed on? (If you don't please don't be rude and judgmental of those who do.)

I'm not a big believer in that sort of happenings but I'm sure that my wife was in the room with me a couple of years after she died. Very weird feeling. Even my dog alerted to it.

I believe it now. My Mom passed away recently and there was a sign at the Memorial. Also a few weeks later, I received another sign.

Gator, I love how you put this question. Normally I don't bother answering these kinds of questions cuz I won't debate things of this nature but you made me feel welcome to answer. Thank you my friend. I use to... Please let me explain. When my grandma was dying she gave me a hummingbird pendant. She said she was giving it to me because I always reminded her of a little hummingbird running around getting things done and whatever I set my mind to I accomplished. Then she said she was proud of me. After she passed away, when ever I saw a hummingbird I thought it was her sending me a sign that she was proud of me. I loved seeing hummingbirds cuz that meant I was doing good. But then I began to believe that everytime I saw "4:20" (the time of her death) it meant something disastrous was gonna happen in my life and she was "comforting me" for what will happen. I created this false sense of security in a bird and created a lot of unnecessary drama because of a number. When my sister was dying and in the hospital I wrote her a poem titled "The Storm before your Rainbow" meaning this illness was her storm and God always promised a rainbow after a storm. I thought her rainbow was her being healed and walking out of the hospital miraculously. But God had other plans. She got her rainbow but it was in Heaven. However the day we buried her, moments after laying her in the ground, I looked up and saw the most beautiful HUGE rainbow I ever saw.  Everyone at her gravesite saw it. Then it disappeared into the sky. I thought that was a sign from my sister that she found her rainbow. And at that time that was the only peace I could hold on to. That is what I needed at the time. Tawny's rainbow. It was Tawny's rainbow for eleven and a half years... Til God revealed to me that all along that rainbow was in fact Reina's rainbow. It was a sign from HIM that He was there comforting me in MY storm. My sister was with Him. I needed the promise. So now that I have felt His agape love I now know better that "signs" are a false sense of comfort. My TRUE comfort came from Him.

Sorry if it sounds "preachy" but I have been there done that and wanted to tell my story, my thoughts on the subject. ☺

Once again, thank you Gator for asking the question in such a kind way.

If one thinks there is a supernatural, it logically reasonable to assume that such things are possible.

The principle is: The higher you are, the lower you can go.

Thus the reasonableness of the descent into hell by Christ.

I occasionally drop by to see my friends and relatives now---why wouldn't I continue to do so after my death?

Here is food for thought. A close friend used to climb the fence and tap on my back window, very occasionally, usually when she wanted to borrow something (often a bottle opener) or just wanted to chat.

She died, unexpectedly, and horribly early, around 12 years ago.

My son (who was at home studying) complained that "Someone seemed to be tapping on the back window, but when I went to look there was no-one there!"

Then twice, within a few days, we both, together heard loud and obviously deliberate, tapping, we rushed outside - nothing there, nothing near to the window to make such a noise.

I really do not believe in "ghosts" per se, but, as I said.... Food for thought.........

I have a friend that believes that when she sees a penny on the ground, it's from her dad. Sometimes, I see my dad as a face in the crowd when I'm out and about. It's really weird. I look up and think I see him. The person turns toward me as if acknowledging me and then disappears. It's happened about 3 times in 23 years.

Yes, these things can be explained another way. No, I don't think I'm the only one that this has happened to. It makes me happy, not sad, to think my dad might be showing himself to me at various times in my life when I've needed it. Is it true? I don't know and don't care. It helps me to believe it, so I'm going with it.
