-Not all of Calfornia is warm and full of palm trees and beaches.
There are feet of snow covering the mountains not far from here! We have every climate you can imagine here.

-Just because you come to L.A. Doesn't mean you're going to see a celebrity in person

-There's gonna be traffic

-You're gonna want to live here after you visit, but it's too expensive :P

There are two things I want them to know. First, that rude person next to you in the restaurant or on the road when you are in the tourist areas, are not from Florida. They are other tourist who is trying to do what you are doing. Keep their entire family happy while trying to cram too much stuff into a "trip to remember" when all that is happening is everyone is overtired and stressed and no one is having any real fun. That is why we Floridians don't go where the tourist are. Second would be not all of Florida is beaches and theme parks.

There are some important things that tourists don't know when visiting Australia:

STAY BETWEEN THE RED AND YELLOW FLAGS

If there are signs on the beach that say 'Marine Stingers,' stay out of the water and wear shoes on the beach, unless you want to risk getting stung by a jellyfish.

Thongs are Flip Flops

Pavlova is the greatest invention known to man, and it was invented in Melbourne

Lamingtons are also pretty good

Tim Tams are only second to Pavlova

The heat is not good when you live on the coast; you walk in a pool of your own sweat

Australia Zoo is good, but if you're going to Sydney, go to Taronga Zoo instead

It isn't what it use to be. If you come to England the only thing that will let you know that your in England is the weather, castles, ruins, and green fields. The people, the culture, and the food is a mixture of every country, you could be anywhere in the world.  As Ray said, if you want to see what England use to be, you'll have to venture out of the main cities. England's villages and traditions are becoming a rarity. My local museum has been nearly wiped of anything worth seeing and turned into a coffee shop with books. No one wants to read books when they visit a museum, which is what I told my town councillor when I bumped into him the other day.  "You're wiping out our history" is exactly what I told him.

Australia has beautiful beaches and lots of friendly sea creatures, but you need to be careful if they come too close. The 10 year old boy in this picture had a close encounter of the sharky kind this week.
