Has anyone ever heard of any people (fictional or otherwise) who think everything bad that happens to them is equal (for example, thinking that their being dumped by their girl/boyfriend is as bad as losing their parents)?

If I understand what you are trying to ask..... I would say it probably has something to do with mental health issues rather then your example.....

And if I am reading it wrong then NO being dumped by a parent is far worse then a boy/girl friend. They come and go. A parent is suppose to be unconditional love.
