My dad makes it with ground beef, a mix of kidney and pinto beans, diced tomatoes, onions, garlic, chili powder, black pepper, and sometimes chopped bell peppers, but not always. It's a pretty simple recipe, but I really like it.
I make mine with both beans and meat (ground turkey or lean beef).
beans and ground beef, for me
Ground beef, kidney beans, little onion, can of tomato sauce and an envelope of Chili-o mix. Sour cream and shredded cheddar on top.
I like both. My wife prefers without beans, but makes each kind when she cooks it.
Ground turkey and beans. And it is good! I had a friend who used to judge a big chili cook off who kept trying to get me to enter. I just wasn't willing to give up a weekend and spend the cash to feed a ton of people to do it.
Both. My two secret ingredients are dark chocolate and coffee. A bit of both add depth of flavor.

Both
I add onion, small can of whole kernel corn and can of diced tomatoes.
Mine has lean hamburger meat drained, minced onions, green peppers, kidney beans, chopped celery, sometimes a can of bean medley, can of refried beans, chilli mix powder, garlic powder, touch of salt & pepper, can of tomatoes chunks, can of pasta sauce, tomato paste. All into a pot low simmer stirring gently often on the stove. Served with Cheddar cheese. Quite the list of ingredients and it needs a huge pot but it's omg good.
Mine is done with beans, ground beef, diced onions, diced tomatoes and chili seasoning. After mine is in a bowl I add a few drops of either Tabasco Sauce or Spiracha Sauce. It's too spicy for my wife. I really love it with cornbread, but if I don't have that I break up some Saltine Crackers and put in it.
Ground Beef, onion, a can of diced tomatoes, chili powder. I'm not a big fan of beans, but I put in some, then I add corn and green beans.
These are all great recipes and I am going to give them to my wife so she can see what great ideas you all have. I thank you all for your suggestions.
