Anyone else's dogs have this? I've noticed that my stepdad's husky mix has mismatched claw colors. He has 2 black nails and 2 white nails on each foot, with 2 black dew claws in the back and 2 white dew claws in the front. It normally wouldn't matter but I have heard that abnormal claw color can be a symptom of a nail disorder

My dog has had mixed color claws for her entire life and she's very healthy.

The nail color is most often determined by the color of the dog's coat on the toe. White paws have white nails. It is from lack of pigmentation. Colored fur (brown, black, tan) will most likely have black nails.

When they talk of nail color and nail disease, it is usually a red tint to the nails they are referring to. It can because by hypothyroidism, nail fungus, or injury.
