Many sport fans maffick after a big win for their team.
Maffick is a primarily British word meaning "to celebrate in an exuberant, unrestrained manner," and is best appreciated by having some knowledge of The Siege of Mafeking--- a 217-day siege battle for the town of Mafeking (now called Mahikeng) in South Africa during the Second Boer War from October 1899 to May 1900.
(Oh, I had to work on this one a bit. Retaining knowledge of something new is easier when it is associated with something else.)
Everytime I got together with my sister we would automatically have a maffick occasion! We would already be celebrating. Tuesday would have been her birthday. I miss her so. 😔
I love this word RefreshMe! It describes my sister and I to a Tee!!!!
