Recently, I saw a woman punched in the face when she exited her car to "express" her road rage at another driver, who flattened her with his fist. How many of you are at least occasional road ragers?

When I started driving many, many, many years ago my father warned me that men (women were not normally driving cars back then but they still fall into the category) lost their inhibitions just as fast as if they were drinking when they got behind a steering wheel. Over time I have witnessed road rage at different levels and stages of violence. I have always avoided being around or near the idiots when I suspect they are on the verge. The harm they can inflick on themselves is one thing but the carnage that can ingulf inocent bystanders is totally iresponsible.

Not an overt rager or horn blaster .... But I do occasionally express my anger privately inside my car.  (It isn't pretty.)  LOL

I talk to myself about the idiots.

Not into getting someone all fired up that they may hurt others.

I'm an occasional road-rager. Not to the point of getting out of my car and confronting anyone, but I will react strongly to certain offenses. I'm no stranger to flipping people off or shouting obscenities at someone who probably won't even hear them.

People carry guns. Mace. They can be sociopaths. They do serious drugs. You can never know what to expect. Maybe they'll post your angry ass on YouTube.

After so many years of roadway experience, you come to realize the ride isn't worth getting all that upset about, one more jerk in front of you won't make you arrive any later, and its safer for you to just smile and give the fool some space.

A recent road rage that happened in Perterbough, Ontario Canada has left me shocked. Look it up on Youtube. A man exited his truck and using a club repetitively hit an elderly cyclist while a passerby filmed it. So enraged he was in denial and virtually insane at that momment.

The bleeding cyclist was also in shock.

I could never imagine hurting someone like that. I've expressed my anger with words which only lip readers can interpret.

Most people are not inherently violent, but that 3000 lb steel car can embolden the meek to action they would otherwise not consider.

I swear on a regular basis when driving. It amazes me how many people who get behind the wheel of a car and driving is the last thing they do there. I have had so many close calls last year I asked for and received a dash cam. I would never stop and get out of my car and confront someone.
