It was awesome Happy. There were about 15 adults, 6 kids and afterwards, 3 dogs to clean off the porch. Not a crumb was left on the floor.
I didn't eat dinner so I could pig out of cake and ice cream.......and I did.

Happy's answer reminded me of this. Cruising in the streets and hamburger stands and having the waiters take your order from the car window and bringing your food out on a tray to eat in your car.

Don, you need to start listening again . . . a Lot of new artists have adopted the 80's sound. So much so, that I will often play my sons a song from the 80's that have MANY of the exact same attributes as the newest Indy song they play me.

Seriously. I miss a great drive up diner where the tray of food was delivered to you and you had to roll down your car window to set the tray on. Turning on your headlights when finished eating was a sign that they could pick up your tray

You're right! I forgot about turning on the headlights to let them know you were ready for the tray to be picked up. Those were the days!

I miss schools saying the pledge of allegiance every morning! In my school day it was said first thing BEFORE annoucements! It broke my heart the day the stupid principal at my kids school announced "ready begin" then it went silent over the intercom....... And there was a man in his military uniform dropping off his kid behind me. Even the office didn't say it! They didnt pause what they were doing. That's when I realized schools don't say it any more! Poor guy. Grrrrrrr!

That's too bad. Our schools still say the pledge. We even have a local news station that films various classrooms to show on the morning news. I love seeing them, especially when it's a kindergarten or first grade class. :)

Like some of you, I really miss the drive-in movies and drive-in diners with car hops.  Too bad we can't all invest in a few .... I bet they would be hugely popular again.  :)

I've never been to one. 😕 The closest I've been to a drive in diner would be Sonic. I absolutely fell in love with a diner out in Hesperia call "Peggy Sue's" the food was great, the people were so pleasant, and the atmosphere was wonderful. I couldn't help but to feel the love and history in that place. I wish more places to dine could be like that. (My daughter and I were such tourists! They have a sign hanging in the ladies room that says "Elvis was here" we HAD to pose under the sign! Lol!) I love taking pictures.

You're right Janis. I'd love a new place like that. Sonic just doesn't have the same feel for me. I was so disappointed when our last one shut down. It was the end of an era.

I'd have probably taken a pic too, Yin. That sounds fun! :)

Keeping it simple.

Why is there every damn flavor of Oreo out there? I thought doubling the cream was fine, but to have Caramel Apple, Pumpkin Spice, Red Velvet cake  . . . Is just ridiculous.

Keep the original recipe simple to what it was first marketed for.

Make the flavors, but call it something else . . .

Oh, and since Hostess was purchased and the recipes changed to increase shelf-life, they shouldn't call it Hostess ANYTHING . . . They do not taste the same at all. Helps me with my diet though . . . The first time I decided to snack on one of the "Suzy-Q's" it made me NEVER want to snack on those cakes again.
