Have you ever liked a food/drink item, then stopped eating/drinking it and the next time you tried it, it tasted horrible?

I have given up soda recently and just took a sip..... And it tastes NASTY! It is sickly sweet! Has soda always tasted this sweet!?!?

Got drunk on Gin.

Puked all night long and then the next time I took a sip of Gin I experienced a PTSD remembering that horrible evening and couldn't stand the taste or smell of it.

Well depends if they changed the recipe . . . Hostess Suzy Q now is not the Hostess Suzy Q of my youth.

Also, taste buds change a bit over time . . .

I will say I have always loved Coke, and When I stopped just about drinking it altogether, the occasions when I did was still super tasty and refreshing, BUT now had the side effect of Phlegm afterwards . . I've no idea why. .

Yes i agree. It almost tastes like something chemically now.

I actually did a little reading, and the company that purchased the Hostess name, closed a ton of local bakeries they had in place for distribution.
The problem with Hostess was the shelf life was actually quite low (by today's standards) even though they made it sound like Twinkies last forever in "Die Hard" . . .
They changed the recipe so that shelf life doubled and even tripled . . . which I think can only be done chemically and not so naturally . . . It takes a lot less people now to produce those cakes which cost us jobs . . .
I think it might have been better to just let them die off . . . .
