If the letters ‘N.E.W.D.O.O.R’ are rearranged, they can make the words ‘One Word’. This is called an anagram, a popular puzzle or type of word play that tests the mind and challenges the player. An anagram is the result of rearranging the letters of a word or phrase to produce a new word or phrase, using all the original letters exactly. It is common for the letters to be scrambled to create a different word or a word or phrase which is totally unrelated as this will confuse the person and make it more difficult to discover another word. However, the goal of serious or skilled anagrammatists is to produce anagrams that in some way reflect or comment on the subject. An example of this would be William Shakespeare = I am a weakish speller. William Shakespeare is famous for his creative use of words which were often altered slightly in order to fit in with a pattern he was using. His spelling was not necessarily weak but this refers to his use of writing, spelling and words which made him so famous.
Anagrams are often used in ‘Brain Training Games’, a new phenomena which was recently popularized by a game by Nintendo. Brain Training is designed to appeal to people of all ages and encourages the use of the brain which may not be used in everyday life. It has been recently found that elderly people who remain mentally active and continue to challenge their brain, may live significantly longer than people who do not. The games include anagrams, Soduku, word searches, cross words and other word play games and memory games that increase in difficulty as the player progresses.

www.scrabblewordfinder.com

these two sites allow you to input letters and they will come up with a word/list of words using some or all of the letters. Scrabble came up with wooden, which does not use the letter R, and MagsWordFinder came up with a host of words with wooden being the one using all but the letter R as well.

Does the answer have to be one word or can it be two words? That makes a big difference.

WONDER seems to be the only word I can come up with. That last O proves this a challenge; unless that O is there as a play on something to the effect of "there are two Os, but in reality there is really only one".

I have a program that automatically unscrambles.  There is NO seven letter word from that set.  Two words, not one.....
