It is very important to know during what time you are going to Australia. The continent usually attracts tourists during the month of October to January as there is lot of heat and sunshine during that time. The rest of the months are pretty cold and wet. It is very important to take lots of clothes with you when going to Australia. The heat may cause you to sweat and make your clothes dirty. You can carry a lot of short clothes because of the summer. Australia is also a semi desert region; make sure you have all the relevant medicines when going there. Take moisturizers and sunscreens along with you. Also remember to carry a mosquito repellent cream with you. Next thing to make sure is to take all the medical shots that are required when going to Australia to be free of any local disease caused there by insects. You need to consult your doctor in this matter.

From experience, I find that packing for a week long trip can help you get through three weeks as well.  Bring laundry detergent in those small travel bottles or packets and you can wash your clothes at the hotel.  It's much more convenient this way because you pack lighter and in the end have more room for souvenirs.  Also pack half of the necessities you usually use at home, as in only the ones you will actually use.  Carrying too much shampoo or hair spray can add to the pounds in your suitcase.  Here is a little secret too.  Take clothes that you don't usually wear anymore so when it comes to your last week in Australia, you can just leave them at the hotels and they will be disposed of and you will have a much more roomier suitcase. Smart huh?
Hope this helps you out.
