Solids - Liquids

Solids change state when you use heat and turn into liquids. This happens because the particles in solids vibrate so when you give heat energy; it melts if you give too much heat and turns into a liquid. This also happens because when you give energy to a solid the particles move around a little bit more (kinetic energy).

When solid particles are heated, they vibrate very vigorously. Because of the tremendous heating, the vibrate even more, forcing the inter - particle forces between them to weaken, thus changing to liquid state.
