Native to Central and South America, the sloth is the slowest animal on the planet. Sloths move extremely slowly and only when it is necessary.

Andrew Mason
Although generally found, with the help of long claws, hanging upside down from branches, sloths will occasionally make a trip down to the ground. Once on ground the sloth, generally, moves at 0.5 to 1 foot per minute with their maximum speed being at 5 feet per minute.

Although sloths sometimes eat small insects and lizards, the sloth mainly eats vegetation and is considered an omnivore. Most at home in tropical rainforests, sloths are now having to adapt to city living with the ever growing urban areas. In rainforests sloths spend most of their lives hanging from tree branches and even dying in tree branches.

Choosing a holiday destination can be tough sometimes. Make a wrong decision and you could end up on a vacation from hell. Just ask anyone who visited Sri Lanka during the tsunami of 2004, was on the paradise island of Bali during the terrorist attack in 2002, or one of the many who have witnessed fatal shark attacks off the Great Barrier Reef.

But the freak fatalities in these destinations pale in comparison with the death rate in many other places on the tourist map. It’s amazing to think that tourism exists in the most deathly countries on the planet, and yet in today’s world of global travel, the doors to travellers are open in even the most hostile and impoverished nations. So, while the tourists are sat gazing at the crystal waters, taking snaps of animals on a safari, or visiting  read more...

Tarantulas cannot be tamed. Some Tarantulas are just more docile than others.
Take the Rose Hair for example, they are rather docile and won't strike unless surprised or aggravated. A T. Blondie however is not one I would wish to ever handle.

All Tarantulas have venom, however if they do decide to bite generally its dry and just a warning.

The best way to handle a Tarantula is to coax it onto the back of your hand, do not breath on your pet as they do not like any air flow over their body. Do not make sudden movements and keep your hand still. And be confident.

A fall from any large height more than 6 inches could easily rupture the inside of your tarantula killing them slowly. Especially the Terrestrial species like a Rose Hair.

The most successful film on the smallest budget is The Blair Witch Project (1999), which cost $35,000 dollars to produce and grossed an estimated $160 million dollars at the US box office, and $248 million worldwide, earning back $10,000 dollars for every dollar spent. The film was shot on handheld cameras and featured friends and relatives of the filmmakers as cast and crew. It benefited from a viral internet marketing campaign and incredible world of mouth on its theatrical release, based on rumours of the film being a documentary. Other successes include Generation X comedy Clerks (1994), which cost just $27, 765 dollars to make and grossed over $3 million at the US box office, and Robert Rodriguez's El Mariachi (1992), which cost $7,000 dollars and enjoyed a reasonable box office return  read more...

The Olympics started in Olympia, Greece in 8th century B.C., and ran until 5th century A.D. After years of being ignored, a man named Pierre de Coubertin decided to honor the original Greek games by putting on what is now considered the first Olympiad in 1896.

The games played during this first Olympiad were fairly common, and, really, not strange at all. Games like cycling, weight lifting, and gymnastics were the norm (1896 gymnasts were all male, and all sported an glorious Victorian era mustache). Over the years, more, slightly off kilter events were added, then quickly eliminated. Probably because all the athletes competing in them complained of health problems such as “feeling like a total idiot.”
