"Breaking Dawn" is the final instalment of the "Twilight" series by Stephenie Meyer. The novel, which wa spublished in August 2008, is the final novel to be told from the point of view of protagonist, Bella Swan. "Breaking Dawn" is structured differently to the other novels. It is broken into three parts. The first part begins with Edward and Bella’s honeymoon. Edward, who is a vampire, previously made a promise to Bella that they would consummate their marriage before Bella becomes a vampire. They do so, and not long after, Bella becomes ill. She discovers that she is pregnant and after the pregnancy is confirmed, she and Edward return home. What Is Quantitative Easing?

Quantitative easing isn't a new policy - it has been tried before, notably in Japan - but it's not a phrase that many people had heard until a few days ago.Basically, when a country's central bank wants to encourage borrowing andlending in hard economic times, to keep the economy going, it usually does this by lowering interest rates so businesses etc can afford to borrow. However, if it has already tried this and it hasn't worked, one possible measure is, literally, to 'make money' - to print it or simply to 'add a couple of noughts' so that the country officially has a much larger money supply available. This is quantitative easing, and it's what's happening in the UK at this  moment. The Bank of England has cut the interest rate to 0.5% which is unbelievably low - if it goes lower  read more...

The fact that you are gratified to be represented in race and or a shared experience or identification in some other way by a leader who happens to be your race but also  stands for/leads from more than a place of simply race does not make you a racist.  The fact that there were Caucasian presidents that I also voted for, and the fact that we shared similar experiences or some commonality in background also did not make me a racist when I voted for someone who also happened to share those experiences, when I voted for them because I believed they could lead well.  Voting for someone  merely or primarily because of race rather than on basis of qualifications makes one a racist.I share your joy in this leader and hope the best for him as he leads.

How Much Does Earth Weigh?

Everything on Earth's surface weighs something. The ironic thing is, because Earth is suspended in space, it is technically weightless. But scientists have been able to calculate that our planet's mass is approximately 6,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000, or 6 septillion kilograms. Or more simply, 1000 trillion tons. This is approximately 13,200,000,000,000,000,000,000,000In pounds. This measurement is obtained from earth's gravitational pull of other objects. Any two objects, when placed together, have a gravitational attraction - but the smaller the mass of the object, the smaller the gravitational attraction. For example, the gravitational attraction between two golf balls is virtually non-existent. But this attraction is the measurement with which you can determine each mass, and this is  read more...

Why Is Mars Red?

 10 months ago - 5 answers

Scowan
The surface of Mars is covered in a deep, rich iron oxide that gives the planet its red tinge. It is commonly believed that long ago, part of the planet's surface was covered in water, and until recently it was believed that the iron oxide that remains was due to a process of oxidation, whereby the flowing water of the prevalent rivers and oceans would have worn away the rocks, and the oxygen in the water would have mixed with the iron to produce iron oxide (in other words, a rust would have formed). This rust would then have been distributed all over the planet's surface via rainfall. However, data collected by NASA in 1997 suggests that much of the iron oxide in the planet's soil arrived there from meteorites. This theory is supported by the numerous craters that scar the surface of Mars.  read more...
