I Have A Steering Problem As Well While Driveing My Car The Steering Wheel Moves Left Ang Right About An Inch At A Regular Motion Any Ideas ? Possibly The Steering Rack?

Asked by Darrin in Cars 4 months ago - 1 answer

Hey, yeah i have that too at speeds (about 90-100km/h) and when slowing down. It usually means you should get a wheel alignment. But they're pretty cheap - only about $50 at the most. Its pretty dangerous cause it makes you more likely to lose control of the car (especially in wet weather) so i should get my car done too. ...more

My Classic Saab 900 Has Failed Its MoT For Excessive Play In The Steering, Do I Need A New Steering Rack?

Asked by celia in Classic Cars 4 years ago - 1 answer

Probably not, unless your MoT tester is a fully-trained Saab mechanic. It all depends on where the excessive play in the steering occurs. Asked by Howdyho in Maintenance & Repairs 3 years ago - 1 answer

If you had an aftermarket remote starter or remote locks etc. installed.; even if the dealer has someone install it its still aftermarket and they re-wire darn near everythig. If you have a remote starter installed have it put back together the way the factory intended and you will be amazed. Other than that a faulty fuel pump will do the same thing. Good luck. ...more

"I Have A O6 Dodge Dakota With No Tilt Steering Column On The Bottom Of My Steering Wheel It Came With Out It How Can I Get One Thats Cheap Or Is Ther A Kit I Relly Want It Cause I Have A Real Bad Shoulder Problemand Save Alot Pain?

Asked by Robert06 in Maintenance & Repairs 9 months ago - 2 answers

Unless you are a professional mechanic, do not try this yourself. I would not trust a complete steering column from a wreck, since the airbag would be tampered with on removal/installation.  Plus you are looking at about 2000 bucks. I would try different steering configurations for your arms to see if you can alleviate pain. ...more
