The value of the people's lives
were only just determined by any of
you by the source of information...
Before you were told by this debate
or the media or how ever you found
out the people died.... You did not
care, because you did not know.. So
for the sake of argument the
British were more important to each
and every person who received the
information until other information
was given to them to let them know
the British weren't the only ones.
So in that aspect yes sometimes
some people are more important than
others...only because you don't
know any better and end up caring
only about what you've been let
known

True. According to the liberal news
media () us westerners are somehow
more valued than the native Iraqis
or Afghans. That's the truth about
objectivity in journalism: The only
objective is advertising revenue.

"An American Or British Life Has
More Value Than That Of An Iraqi Or
Afghan. Even When The Victims Are
Non Combatants." - depends on how
you look at it. Realistically, an
American or British may think that
their race is superior. An Iraqi or
Afghan may think that their race is
superior. At media value, an
American or British casualty in war
[or in anything, really] has more
'viewer value' than an Afghan or an
Iraqi - probably because casualties
have become normal, and nobody
could care less. In the eyes of
God, though, none is better or
worse. We're all human, all
sinners, and all Saved. Of course,
if you're not Christian, your
viewpoint may be different, but if
your stand is the same is saying
that all humans are people, then it
shouldn't matter - race shouldn't
matter, or nationality. WHATEVER.
What should matter is how our lives
were lived, not where we lived our
lives. Wonderful topic.

Phew this is one of those debate
topics that takes your breath away
when you first read it. To think
anyone ever came out with a
statement like that!
There is no way to estimate the
value of a human being.
And people who try do so are just
plain worthless ;)
That's not as facetious as it first
looks - people who judge and
condemn others are usually
indulging in a bit of shadow
projection, aren't they.

Nationality does not matter, it is
the value of the person that
counts!

The main word we should be looking
at is NEWS value. That just
depends on who is writing or
reading it. Every soul has the same
value.

All life is precious to God. I do
not believe that Nationality
diminishes a persons value.

No one persons life is more
important than anothers, its how
you live your life that is
important. Regarding the Media -
its horses for courses, in the
middle east the reporting of Iraqi
lives lost to or because of the
allied invader are reported more as
that it what gets a more reactive
response and sells the papers over
there. Same as in the NI
conflict, in Ireland and the
catholic press (and to a certain
extent the American press to get
sympathy) it was the loss of
catholic lives for the cause that
were most reported, the death of a
British soldier was celebrated.

 I personal find the statement
offensive, but the explanation all
too true. It is a shame that the
news services have come down to
this, and that they control the
information that we have available.
I can't place a value on people so
that I may put them at different
levels. This one more valued than
that one who is more valued than
that. It is just hard to say what
can be done to make change when
there is so much that needs to
change.

We all created equal. But in war
it better them than us, but we
should value innocent civilians.

All i can say is human life
shouldn't be evaluated in terms of
their value on news channels or
papers.
Media should stop evaluating such
in-human things & should provide
coverage on more people in trouble
worldwide this will earn them
equally high revenue.
