Baseball's DH Rule Is A Good One!

I Am A Fan Of The American League And To Me It Is Completely Normal To Have A DH. I Would Not Want To See A Pitcher Hit Because It Is Usually An Out! Your Thoughts!

The DH is the greatest part of Baseball to have come along in some time. To all the so called purists, you have to go back to the original baseball game and do as they did. As to others, 1. It does not detract from strategy. When have you ever seen a pitcher come up to bat when the bases are loaded and his team is behind? 2. Baseball is now a business more then a sport. The DH keeps our favorite palyers around longer. 3. It is an opportunity to rest a player and still keep his bat in the game.

The DH rule makes the game more exciting for the spectators. We want to see hits and home runs!

I am also an American League fan, so it is obvious that I'm only exposed to National League rules during inter-league games or the playoffs. As it's already been stated, the pitcher, more often than not, is an automatic out. That's pretty dull.

Having to remove the pitcher when he's pitching a good game doesn't make a lot of sense, and the double switch gets to be confusing.

Lineups in the AL are deeper than in the NL. When was the last time the NL won an all-star game? Now that that game determines home field advantage in the World Series, the DH makes more sense for the NL.

By the way, Ron Bloomburg is now managing a championship team in Israel.

I think as long as both teams have a dh than why not. Pitchers have enough to worry about. I've been playing softball for 10 years and have played every position except for pitcher and second and pitcher seems to be the hardest and takes the most effort (although catcher is not far behind). Give them a little bit of a break, their arms are close to jelly by the end of a game anyway.

I'm totally with you on the DH rule. I am also an avid fan of the AL (East). Walteria has said it right. Pitchers spend such minimal time in batting practice. What's the point of putting them up to bat?? It's silly.

I agree with you. When a pitcher gets up, yes most pitchers are not even expected to hit. Their focus is on the pitching alone..

It brakes the tradition of baseball and that is what baseball is about: Tradition

 I don't like it.

I say let the pitchers play proper baseball.

And if they have this rule why should only the American League be allowed to use it?
