 Yes, why not.
They have really made best
arrangements and taken exceptional
security measures and Woah! The
opening ceremony took my breath
away.

Why wouldn't they be deserving to
hold the 2008 Olympics, I believe
Phillippe has nailed the answer and
there is nothing else to be said.

I totally agree with philpay every
country should be able to host the
Olympics. Some countries can't
afford to but I can't help that and
i don't think anyone will be
helping these smaller countries to
host anytime soon. I do believe
that if a country can afford it
then they deserve to host it.

I think china deserves to host the
2008 Olympic Games because the
country have every things in terms
of equipments,infrastructures and
the arenas to enable the athletes
compete adequately for the
medals. The fact that the country is
presently peaceful also adds to
their advantage and there are lots
of tourists attractions site which
the athletes can visit and so many
other countless points which the
time may not permit me to
mention. So i think th IOC have
picked the best country to host a
prestigious game which brings
people of different tribes,cultures
language and traditions together to
ignite world unity.TUMB UP TO YOU
GUYZ!!!

I think that china deserves to host
the Olympic games.
China gets every right to hos the
Olympic games just as what ever
country that wants . Who care about
what china has done but what they
are trying to do that is good. Not
all china people are bad , and you
gotta admit if you where living n
china you would so want the
Olympic games to be where you live
so I think that china deserve to
ost the Olympic games. Any ways
china has tried to clean up all the
pollution and that's one of the
reasons there have to Olympic games
in china to help clear out the
pollution

The Olympics is for sports and was
never meant for politics. Why
should politics prevent any country
from hosting an Olympics? As it is
now, only the wealthy countries can
afford to host the Olympics. And
it's the wealthy countries that
really harvest medals. What a
shame!

 DESERVES to host the Olympics?
DESERVES seems to be the key word
in this question...Let's not forget
what the Olympics is all about.
The Soviets and their Communist
empire regieme hosted the
Olympics...Even Germany under the
regeime of Adolf Hitler were hosts
to the Olympics. Of course, we all
know that was the year that Jesse
Owens tossed Hitler's beliefs of
white supremecy out the
window...
Many of the world's biggest
violater of human rights, or even
polluters have successfully hosted
the Olympics.
I say succe
ssful for 2 reasons. First, they
were able to bring together all the
countries of the world together
into a peaceful arena of athletic
competition.
By having a world audience watching
these countries compete, there is
an opportunity for groups to bring
light to their cause around the
world.
There will always be terrorist
groups who use the venue to solicit
their hate as the Olympics had in
the past and those who are not
terrorist who will peacefully use
the Olympics in the peaceful spirit
that the Olympics were formed.

 Ummmm....
The chinalympics should be
boycotted.
Its as absurd that china hosts as
it was for pre ww2 Germany to
host.
In 1959 china took over Tibet and
forced them under their rule. Now
Tibet wants their country back, and
china refuses, instead slaughters
anyone who opposes.
The Olympics is supposed to
symbolize world peace and unity,
not oppression and dictatorship.
And how are our athletes supposed
to compete when the smog is so bad
, visibility is about 50 yards?
China is the number 1 polluter in
the world. Now that they're
drilling our oil 50 miles south of
the Florida keys, how long do you
think it will be before our
pristine beaches are littered with
rotting sea animals and black
sludge?
I will be watching the x games
myself.
In fact I'm starting a debate about
the Chinese.

Not only is China a Communist
regime and a huge human rights
violator, but look at the female
gymnasts that they bring to the
table. Olympic rules state that
they must be at least 16 years old
at the time of the Olympics. If
those girls are 16, I'll eat my
underwear. China is forcing these
little girls to compete in the
Olympics, and because they have
provided faked passports to prove
the girls age, no one will do
anything about it. Even though,
previous documentation puts at
least one girl at 14 several months
before the Olympics.One girl
doesn't look a day over 10.
Has anyone watched the women's
gymnastics events? These little
girls look like they think that
their entire village will be
executed if they don't perform
extremely well. It's really sad.

China is like, the biggest polluter
in the history of the world, they
KNOCK DOWN HOUSES to make room for
the stadiums and it's a horrible
place! People get killed and sent
to jail for speaking against the
government, and they wear gas masks
2 protect themselves from their own
pollution! Our Athletes have 2
breathe that poisoned air, how are
they gonna perform their best?
BBBBOOOOO 2 CHINA!!

I know the entire country is not at
fault here, but all the poisoning
and dangerous products we hace
received from them has led me to
belive that has all been an act of
terrorism. And I don't think we
should dump our money into a
terrorist country- to have it be
used against us later. And their
disposal of baby girls and
"defected" babies is appalling and
God will judge them.

No, they don't truly deserve to
hold the Olympics with all the crap
that's been going on with them.
But I do think that that is
completely missing the point of the
Olympics. I never really thought it
was about weather or not they
deserve it. I always thought it was
it was to get together, for other
countries to get a taste of that
countries culture, to compete in
friendly competition, and prove
that my country is a bit better
than yours. For us to truly
experience this, I think its fair
to play ignorant and try not to
kill the spirit of competition. We
can be pissed at China afterwards,
but for now lets not take all the
fun out of the Olympics.
