 In moderation, the chemical
sweetners are nothing to worry
about, and the risk of obesity from
regular drinks is much greater.

This is tough as its open ended and
there is no doubt there are some
dodgy products on some markets.
There is a good argument against
sugar where teeth are concerned but
aciditiy can also be an issue
there.

 A little known fact about
artificial sweetners is the body
does not recognize them as
artificial, hence they are as
"fattening" as regular sugar.
Sugar is harmful, but at least it
is a natural product, no chemicals

 Aspartame, the most prominent
chemical sweetner has been proven
to cause brain damage. If I gain
weight, at least that's reversible
with a good diet. Brain damage is
permanent.
I started drinking diet beverages
for about 4 years, until I read
about aspartame and realized my
short term memory isn't what it
used to be. I will never have
another mouthful of that poison
again.

I don't think so and dont like diet
products. If you want to loose
weight, then do exercise, never put
milk or sugar in your tea or
coffee! Never eat too much!

Even if the regular drinks may have
more sugar, you don't know how
much, and what of, is being put in
to the drink instead of the sugar.
Your health is better off with the
original drink with sugar.

None of them is healthy. By saying
one more healthy the fact that none
of them is healthier gets ignored(A
LITTLE BIT). Go for natural drinks
to remain healthy(yes! I know that
is very difficult)

I say the regular drinks are
safer, they have less artificial
ingredients

They are both harmful, but the one
that is not diet is better for you.
Diet drinks contain fake sugar (I
think it is called aspartane) which
can cause cancer and nobody wants
cancer!

 'cept for the cancer part.

I feel far safer with sugar.
Aspertane tastes NASTY anyway. A
significant % of people find
nutra-sweet icky.

Just because it is "diet" doesn't
mean it is good. It's a false
conception...it's better just to
drink water

 Wrong. Actually they are
both harmful to your health.
Soft drinks are not sweetened with
cane sugar any more. The soda
companies switched to a cheaper
sweatner, (around the 60's?) and
now it is in everything! High
Fructose Corn Syrup! It causes a
copper deficiency in the body that
breaks down collegian (conective
tissue) in the entire body. So,
basiclly it slowly is making your
whole body, organs and all
disintegrate. Just another FAKE
food!

Both are just as bad! Most sodas
contain phosphoric acid, which
could lead to deterioration of your
bones! If you wish to diet, stop
drinking so much soda and drink a
glass of water instead. And none
of that flavoured water, either.
Just plain old H2O.

In my opinion both are equally
harmful

It doesn't matter if it is
identified as diet. It still
contains the materials to make a
person unhealthly. There have been
in some cases where diet is worse
than a regular beverage.

 Neither is healthy.
