I have braces and I have to wear a stupid mouth guard for softball and it's not fair that the other players don't have to wear one.

 If you don't want your teeth don't wear one. But most people who are actually thinking will wear one because it also help with concussions!

 It protects the mouth from injury,so i support it.

 Even grownups wear mouth guards when playing rugged sports. Do some leagues really discourage this?

 AS long as mom and dad are paying the dental bill, the kids don't get to make the call.

Also, it is the responsibility of parents to protect their children from harm as much as is possible. That might include making some unpopular decisions like mouthguards and cups...

 I was on the fence with this one but finally agreed. I was in Karate and it was 'uniform' to wear one. I figure a baseball could do more damage. The problem would be fit and comfort and 'as always' peer pressure. Oh yes....and how do you keep it sanitary? I guess if I had the choice of teeth or germs I'd take the teeth and wear one.

 If playing in sports I do agree that children should wear all the protection that is out to day to protect all their body parts.
