 What would you do
If you were asked to give up your
dreams for freedom?
What would you do
If asked to make the ultimate
sacrifice?
Would you think about all them
people
Who gave up everything they had?
Would you think about all them War
Vets
And would you start to feel bad?
Freedom isn't free
It costs folks like you and me
And if we don't all chip in
We'll never pay that bill
Freedom isn't free
No, there's a hefty in' fee.
And if you don't throw in your buck
'o five
Who will?

 Acquiring & Maintaining Freedom
requires a lot of sacrifices.
Those who've got freedom need to be
tough enough to maintain it &
protect it from intruders.
Also struggle for "freedom of
speech" in free nations ruled by
dictators, is in progress around
the world.

My husband served in Desert Shield
and Desert Storm, my nephew is on
his 4th and last tour as a F-16
A.F. Fighter pilot. My grandfathers
are also Vet's. I live in a country
that is free and I know it has come
at a very high price, no- it's not
free but for all the Veteran's and
active duty, reservist. I salute
you and you'll forever have my
greatest and deepest gratitude.

I agree, freedom isn't free. It is
bought with the blood of our
American soldiers. Never should we
forget this.

All that is necessary for evil to
triumph is for good men to do
nothing. - Edmund Burke
The tree of liberty must be
refreshed from time to time with
the blood of patriots and tyrants.
- T. Jefferson
Freedom is not free, and will
remain that way so long as men
exist who value their own needs and
desires over those of their fellow
man.

Freedom comes at the highest price:
Blood. It was the blood of our
forefathers that brought this great
country into being. It was the
blood of our grandfathers and great
grandfathers that preserved that
freedom in the Great War and it is
the blood of our children that
continues the preserve the life and
freedoms that we enjoy at the
present. If you have not served
you would not understand the great
sacrifice that is made by those who
have gone before you to fight for
the very write that you have to
speak freely and debate the
ideologies you see before you
today. Freedom is a sacred word,
one that is held in reverence among
those whom I call friends. I know
of this great price I have lived
it. I would not wish anyone to
ever have to lose anyone but the
price for freedom is always and
will always be the blood of young
patriots. Just my take on freedom.

 Freedom isn't free. But, depending
on the country in which you are
looking to buy, you can sometimes
get better deals. I wouldn't pay
much over $1.99, in most cases. You
got to fight for your right to
party. That's what I say.

You are free when you know your
limits but with no limits (with
freedom) you are so limited because
of responsibility
you think many times before doing
any thing when there is someone
takes responsibility off you you'll
not be afraid of the effects of
your doings

Freedom is definitely not free as
the crosses in Arlington cemetary
will attest to. Our country, the
US, has served throughout its short
life as a bastion of freedom to the
world yet hardly a day goes by in
which we aren't assailed with
sacrificing yet another of our
freedoms for the collective good.
The citizens of countries who have
recently made such huge gains in
personal freedom continue to clamor
for more now that they've tasted
freedom. Many in our country wish
to erode the freedoms which we
enjoy little by little till we have
none left. The socialists are
becoming capitalists and the
capitalists can't get enough of
socialism.

My Mom taught me that. So Freedom
is indeed, not free.

Freedom is not free, I never really
thought about that before, but I
see how it all adds up together.
You can't be a "free country"
without paying a price. Liberty and
freedom is for a short time, for
the people that are alive. That is
a sad but true point.

Yes i agree with you, many people
had sacrificed their liefs to get
our (Indian) independence

 Yup Yes & Ofcourse
It's not free!!!
Our ancestors had a very hard time
there Fighting with the colonial
chiefs, They had been only in the
History because here in india
MAHATMA GHANDI was our father of
the nation because HE had a very
very main role in the independence
of india and more important, THE
WHOLE FREEDOM STRUGGLE WAS NON
VIOLENT
he had learned us the importance
of nonviolence!!!
It was really great!!!
Was your countries freedom struggle
with NON VIOLENCE???

Freedom is not free because you
have to make sacrifices by going to
war, giving stuff up, and sometimes
making the huge sacrifice of going
against the law of a country. It is
also not free literally. War costs
money and freedom involves war,
most likely!
|

It is true, freedom is something
one has to fight for. But it is
unwise to fight because you MIGHT
loose your freedom. Then instead of
you fighting for your freedom, you
become the one who is trying to
take it. I feel that this is what
America is doing in the war.

 "Freedom isn't free.
You have to pay a price,
You have to sacrifice
For your liberty."
Freedom has always come with a
price, whether it was the lives of
those who had to fight or the
sacrifices made by non-combatants,
it has never come cheaply. Why
there are those so willing to
compromise that freedom for the
illusion of security is beyond me.

 Agreed. From a nationalistic
standpoint, The price is in lives
of the those who deeply hold love
of country and for their families
and freedom to live in it and to
thrive.
Freedom doesn't come through the
phrases repeated on a website. It
comes from the actions, struggle,
and work of a citizen committed to
personal principle, no matter what
form this takes.

I disagree, freedom is free- until
another tries to take it from you
or tries to interfere with
it....now if you would have said
that in order to keep the peace
which had been fought for in the
past/present/future i would have
agreed to a certain point...wars or
battles do not have to be fought to
keep the peace or freedom but
happens to be mans only option to
maintain it when someone else
intends to inc-roach onto someone
else's rights or freedoms by using
force.....man has the ability to
keep peace and freedom without
war/battles but only when all sides
agree to do so by using
words/discussion instead of any
type of force or weapons....

There is no room on the other side
so I have to make my comments here
but freedom really should be free
and maybe someday, in a perfect
world, it will be. My comment is
that different cultures see freedom
in a different light. In the USA,
we see freedom as being able to do
what we want to do and say what we
want to say without any government
suppression. In Russia they see
freedom as not worrying about being
safe in the streets or in your
home. They see it as not worrying
about having food to eat or medical
attention when you need it.
Socialism equates having your needs
met with a kind of freedom in that
it frees you from concern. I think
most Americans feel like this is
fantasy thinking and to have this
kind of freedom you would have to
give up real freedom to the "State"
in exchange. This is what scares
some of us about Obama's extreme
liberalism. He talks about change
and giving us all these things like
free health care but what will the
PRICE BE?
