I am someone who knows what I am talking about. I managed a OB-Gyn Doctor's office that specialized in difficult and high risk pregnancies. My step- daughter along with several friends just this year had "Designer" babies. The technology is already there, it is just very, very expensive. My objective for the debate was to think through the morality of the IVF. Are we helping God or interferring with his plan? It is a difficult ethical question. Women, desperate to get pregnant will do anything and go through long and painful procedures. The fertilized and developing fetuses are frozen and kept as long as the couple pays to keep them frozen. When the couple has successfully had all the children they desire, the embryos have several potential futures. They can be given to another couple who don't have eggs or sperm, they can be given over for medical research or they can be thrown away. Which is the most moral or ethical option?

 IVF is a long process--you can't just develop as many as you want-most all embryos don't survive you may only get a portion out of the ones you use--yes you can freeze them and yes for a fee you can see what sex you have but it's not all that easy-take it from someone who knows--don't be ignorant to the topic-IVF is made for people who have an extremely hard time getting pregnant or can't get pregnant on their own-it's a miracle for some people, not designer
