In today's society more than ever,
Parents need to develop a close and
trusting relationship with their
children , to help them survive the
perils of peer pressure.

So many more kids just seem to be
nasty these days but i think its a
combination of peer pressure and
lack of parenting.

I agree kids are more mean now
days. With cyber bullying kids
could say anything to each other
cuz they don't have to identify
themselves.

It's about respect and could be a
sign of poor upbringing. I don't
think it's necessarily peer
pressure so much as maybe showing
off to try and look like a big shot
in front of friends. Kids don't
have the respect that was insisted
upon "back in the day" and with the
lack of respect usually comes
"mean" behavior.

From the comments and Shouts I've
received from a particular
sixth-grader, I'd have to agree
that kids are mean, but I don't see
what peer pressure has to do with
it. That's just an excuse, not a
reason.

Yes of course kids are more mean
and cruel these days. I mean if i
done half of what they do today my
parents would have spanked me.
That's the problem they consider
spanking and abuse. Now I'm not say
put you fist in your kids face but
swatting them on the butt ain't
gonna kill 'em. It might make them
think before breaking the rules the
next time.

I think most kids are meaner these
days.
I visited a school and saw how
these kids would pick on the other
kids and the other kids will just
take it like they can't do
anything.

I am too young to have any
background comparison, but I can
tell you with fairly recent
experience that kids these days are
extraordinarily egotistical and
cruel. They are also ambitious and
intelligent.

It's perfectly normal for kids to
be mean, kids are programmned to be
liked and accepted by peers ,even
if it takes bullying.we should as
parents teach our children the
saying that you will attract more
flies with honey than vinegar or
,kill them with kindness and things
of that nature.i feel kids woulndt
bully as much if parents taught
them not too we need them to learn
its not right to victimize somone
if they are different or for
whatever reason,but in reality
theres no stopping them,kids will
always do these sorts of things
it's part of being a kid.

No doubt, kids today are very into
peer pressure, but I think that's
always been the case. Maybe now
people are just realizing it more.
Perhaps back then less things were
illegal...more people got away with
peer pressured incidents, and no
one ended up noticing.
