 Illegals should have some rights
they are not criminals!

This is a tough question. This
country was founded as a republic,
a place for people to be free of
all kinds of persecution and
injustices.
I don't see how we can deny anyone
basic rights and freedoms as set
forth in our Constitution.
I also believe we have to draw the
line at those "rights" that are
more benefits than rights. By that
I'm referring to things like
education and social services. As
citizens, we pay for these when we
pay taxes. If they don't pay
taxes, they have no rights to these
services, but human and civil
rights should be extended to all.

At least some rights, they are
human beings. How can you compare
a criminal with an illegal alien.
The actual criminals that kill
people, that rape and that torture
other human being has rights and a
person that come from his native
country to make some money to
survive they get no rights at all.
Its crazy but it seems to me like
you rather live next to a
killer/thief/rapist than illegal
alien.

They deserve rights i mean they are
human beings even if they have done
bad things. But it should only be
to a certain extent i mean it is
jail!

 Actually, anyone inside US borders
has Constitutional rights. That's
where our guidelines for treating
lawbreakers fairly come from.

Wait a minute, we are a FREE
country, well supposedly a free
country. We have no official
language, so therefore they can
come in not knowing English, and be
able to get by with it.
What about Native Americans? They
are the true people to come to this
country. Us WHITES stole their
land, so we are actually the
immigrants who slaughtered Native
Americans.

When u go to the restaurant, who do
u think that is making ur food? For
sure it will be an immigrant and
probably this person will be
illegal.the guy who do landscaping
in ur house, yes...hes illegal
too!we all need then and we should
have more respect for then.
And there's more. They r not
illegal because they want to...with
u dig more, ull see that is no way
now days to an immigrant get things
by the right way!!!

I agree with amore01 we are turning
into a oppressive, communist
government. There's so many
examples like with the cold war and
the Berlin wall, we took that down
because it stood for oppression and
the governments control. So if you
want to build a bigger, better wall
we are just making the same
mistake. How can we tell who can
and cant have the basic rights that
our government created for people
just like the immigrants who are
looking for a better life for their
families.

Yes! The problem that I have with
the illegal immigration issue is
that it seems like it is a racial
thing! I heard a politician say
that one of the main reasons to be
against this is that we are losing
our language that Spanish will soon
be our dominant language! I think
if it was Candians coming over the
border their would not be an issue!
They speak English afterall! As for
their rights I believe they should
be grnated these rights! Trust me
when I tell you that not everyone
in this country now had ancestors
that came legally! I also knew many
families where the grandparents
spoke fluent Italian or Spanish and
not a lick of English! How soon we
forget the phrase that appears on
the Statue of Liberty!

This is an issue with so many
facets and so complex I think it's
difficult to cover all points in
this forum. I think the question
lends itself better to debate in
person or the question needs to be
broken down/clarified. Are you (or
the "no side" of this debate)
advocating depriving people
residing in this country of the
right to free speech and to
practice their religion (1st
Amendment), for example, based
solely on citizenship status? Are
you referring to ALL constitutional
rights? There are many
consititutional rights, and so it
seems vague. DO you mean to
suggest we as a nation desert our
founding principle of democracy
over this issue of immigrants?
I'm not quite clear on your stance,
but first, I thinks its rather
communistic-thinking of someone to
advocate giving up our nation's
principles of democracy for this
issue. Do democratic principles
survive in the face of whatever
issues, or do we just arbitrarily
toss them depending on the issue?
Would you advocate the deprivation
of the right to speak freely, the
right to practice one's religion
freely based on lack of a person's
citizenship in this country?? Even
our most vicious criminals enjoy
these constitutional rights. Or
would you have our government act
with licensed abandonment of
democracy against free peoples in
this nation (citizens or not) by
conducting search and seizure with
no probable cause? When you are
faced with a moral dilemma, do you
just toss your principles-- or just
conveniently change them
(situational principles)or do you
stand on those principles to seek
solutions? At what expense to our
nation's principles and democracy
would denial of consititutional
rights be? What great seedlings
for government corruption! A
person who believes this way is a
sure threat to democracy and to
this nation --moreso than any
immigrant will ever be, in my
opinion.
And lest we forget, the
Constitution and Bill of Rights,
while providing for individual
rights of people, was drafted
primarily to ensure that the
balance of power of government
would be checked and balanced
against that of the people residing
in this nation. The forefathers
took pen in hand to reign in and
prevent the indiscrimnate use of
power and prevent anarchistic
practice by the government, and the
"rights" you refer to were the
means by which they did it, not
vice versa.
Besides all this, how much
practical sense does it make to
deny an illegal immigrant the right
to a speedy trial? Or even a trial?
(6th amendment). Would we prefer
to pronounce an innocent person
guilty without trial? Would we
prefer to fund his or her
comfortable stay in a jail funded
by taxpayer money when this person
might well be innocent of whatever
charge was brought against him/her?
Talk about a recipe for disaster
and an invitation to corrupt
government authority practices.
Our country was founded on the
principles of democracy, and it
doesn't make sense to me that we
are provoked to behave against
those principles and/or behave
anarchistically for ANY reason. I
say we focus on understanding and
effectively addressing the the
immigration issue, not be goaded
into non-democratic/ anarchistic,
unprincipled government lawlessness
because of illegal
immigration/immigrants and people
who just want to throw their hands
in the air and not address the core
problem.

 They have baisc rights under
international law but they do not
have the same rights as citizens.
Not really sure what constitutional
ritghts you are referring to.
Should they be allowed to vote? No.
Should they have the right to a
fair trial, yes.

Illegal's illegal, man. I bet there
are some prison inmates in
Guantanamo who would like some
legal rights...maybe we should
start there? Or better yet, start
allowing any AMERICAN accused of a
crime more complete rights.
I don't understand how we can screw
over our own decade after decade
and then look to issues like this-
giving criminals more rights. Come
on.

They are breaking the law and
should not receive any special
treatment. They need to enter our
country legally and then they are
entitled to benefits such as Social
Security.

 They're called illegal for reason,
they're breaking the law. They
should not have constitutional
rights because the are not citizens

No, I don't believe that ILLEGALS
should be given rights under OUR
constitution. I think we need to
tighten up our border control and
deport all ILLEGALS. I mean I think
that if they want the same rights
that we have then they can try and
get citizenship, but as far as them
coming here to work and then just
leave and take that money back to
their families, I think that that's
wrong. We have poverty here in the
states, but we can't seem to do
anything about it because the
illegals are coming in and taking
the jobs that true citizens could
have had.
I could go on and on for days, but
I'm not going to. This topic just
gets me fired up! Lol

I agree with autfamily - if they
want to live in the US, going
through the proper process - takes
a long time, but go by the rules!
The little children are what are
sad about this illegal thing. The
parents are here illegally, their
child gets sick so they take them
to the doctor/hospital. Medical
professionals are responsible to
treat them whether illegal or not.
Unfortunately, we the taxpayers,
are paying the costs. Last week, a
City of Phx policer was killed by
an illegal. The illegal had
several warrants out for his
arrest. He had been sent back to
Mexico several times, but just came
right back over the
border...something definitely needs
to be done. We have "Sheriff Joe"
who is loved AND hated. He has a
hotline to call if you discover any
illegals in your neighborhood.
Many drophouses have been
discovered and people arrested.

 This country is a JOKE!!!Mexican's
and Veitnamies come to the USA and
get on Welfare, which should be for
the elderly and American Families
who NEED it!!! They are taking
Job's that our men and women need
to support their families! They
come here and get a Job, not only
Breaking the law bieing here
illegally!? When they get a Job
here then they claim 7, 9,
11?!ect!! Dependents and make More
Money than most American's who have
been on their Job's for Year's!!
And then on top of everything else,
for so many year's they don't have
to Pay Taxes!!! The USA need to
send EVERYONE of them back where
they came from!!! Where are the
Law's of this Country? Did someone
forget them?! If they go thru the
Process and get their Legal
Documentation to be here then fine.
But, until then send them back
where they belong. The Government
is screaming tax dollars, they
Allowed this to happen, so deal
with it!!! We are the one's
suffering because our Government
Allowed this to ahappen!!! These
people come here Commit Crimes
Rape, Driving Drunk ect.. Kill and
they get a slap on the hand sent
back and then end up back in the
U.S. Again!!

They should have no rights, period
end of statement. And they should
be deported.
Did I mention we as USA CITIZENS
need to stand up and start doing
something about this instead of
just changing OUR country to be
more hospitable to the illegals
here?

Illegal aliens, by the mere act of
stepping on our soil, are
CRIMINALS. They also demonstrate
their contempt for the laws of this
land, the will of the people, and
the Constitution upon which all of
our legal authority is based.
Foreigners who demonstrate nothing
but contempt for the Constitution
deserve none of it's protections.

No, they should not have any
rights. They should be put on a
plane and shiped back to Mexico.
There lives are miserables here
too. And they also steal peoples
identities to stay in the country.

That is just mind boggling, perhaps
true Americans should get prizes
for committing crimes to, maybe if

million dollars. That's just
ridiculous.

Got nothing coming except for a way
to take'em back wherever they came
from.Amnesty is a foolish way of
saying it's OK to break the law.Why
is this only for illegals and not
for other criminals,who are
citizens, a way out of their
crime?Because it would be
wrong,thats why.We need to stand
more steadfast and quit cowerring
down to people who are here
illegally and demanding rights in
which they shouldn't have to start
with.Also there are many immigrants
here legally whose treatment is
unsurpassed by the treatment that
is given to the ones here
illegally.This country was built a
lot by immigrants, but as far as I
know they were legal, and it should
continue that way.Anyone who
employs,rents to or harbours anyone
who is here illegally should be
prosecuted as well.

 Absolutely NOT!! Illegal
immigration is slowly but surely
destroying our country. They should
not be given a single right that a
true American has (or should have).
If they want to become a citizen
than they should apply for it just
like the law says. But do you know
what is sad about this? They
actually already have more rights
than any true American does. For
example they get free education
including college, medschool,
lawschool, etc. They get free
healthcare, so even if you are
dying in a waiting room doctors are
still required by US law that they
see the illegals first (yea stupid
right!), they don't have to pay
taxes, they are given all of these
rights that only true US citizens
should get. They are DESTROYING our
country, so no, not a single
illegal immigrant no matter where
they are from should have any
rights here in the U.S.

 Illegals pay tax
they are work force
they are responsible on their
work
they looking just for a better life
working not stilling
they contribute to the economy
they pay Social security.
And many others good thing that a
lot of people do not accept as
illegals , they do not have the
rights to Drive
Social Security Unemployment
welfare and much more
but the only thing they want is
their work to support their
families. Is that a Crime? Not
offense to no one, but for those
who believe on god as the national
money said
"on God we trust" what this words
really mean to you?
Think a little be an let me
know.
I just want to said god doesn't

The only right that is given to an
illegal person coming into this
country, by the Constitution, is
the right to a speedy trial.
Even that is a questionable one.
The rights listed in the Bill of
Rights were for the legal residents
of the country.
By the way they do get a free ride
back their place of origin.

Illegal aliens are breaking the law
in coming here and staying here and
the government turns around and
rewards them with free health care,
school programs, etc. This should
not be. Deport them. Illegals
cost citizens a lot of money and
they will overrun the country
because they know how lax we are in
allowing them to stay here.
