It's not a sport. But I see no problem in making it a sport.

It should be a sport because you burn of a lot of energy in cheerleading. I think that some people call it a sport already.

Just about anything could be made into, or is a sport, including cheerleading

Sure, why not. Like football, cheerleaders pratice very hard to be a successful team.
They compete in fierce tournaments. Sounds a lot like any other sport.

Of course cheerleading should be considered a sport! If it was a sport, the U.S. And the world could hold large tournaments to see which cheer squad could cheer the best!

At the core Cheerleading and Gymnastics are pretty much identical. These girls do flips, cartwheels, and pretty much run around a small area showcasing their talent for hundreds or thousands of fans. The main difference is that Cheerleading is a sometimes supporting sport while Gymnastics is a sport on its own. Cheerleading has its own competitions as well. And if someone were to say that Gymnastics is not a sport… they need to give themselves a reality check next time they catch themselves getting excited about the Olympics so they can watch Gymnastics.

It "is" a sport, and it should continue to be so... Those girls bust their butt! Waaaay more than a lot of sports

Cheerleading is a sport for sure and many do call it a sport because it takes skill. It is not easy to do flips, hold people up, cheerleading is all that so it is definitely a sport.

 Cheerleading is not a sport,

Cheerleading is a form of dancing
And dancing is an art

Therefore, Cheerleading is an art, not a sport.

In many schools it is considered to one. Participants get "letters" just as football team members, etc. There are competitions between schools. There are college scholarships offered.

Me, I don't think is *should* be considered a sport, but I think it obviously *is* considered to be a sport in many places.
