I too am a recovering alcoholic
with 20 years sobriety. I'm just a
regular shmoe nobody. Ignorant,
cowardly people only like to make
fun of her because she's famous.
Amy, get well, you have my
prayers...You can it...If a nobody
guitar player from Irvine
California can do it, anyone
can...besides, you're a girl, so
you have an advantage over us guys,
you're smarter! Ask any man who's
learned the hard way!

 I'm not making excuses for
drug-use, but I think condemning
Amy Winehouse for her problems is a
bit judgemental and uncaring.
If she was not famous would
individuals still take such a harsh
view point?
Should society not consider the
psychological and sociological
factors that can influence
drug/alcohol abuse.

Yes i do feel sorry for her. She is
a great artist singer and to have
an addiction problem is even worst
i have not heard the whole story
yet just a little on cnn but i hope
she is okay and will get in
treatment to battle her addiction.

Drugs are insidious and it seems a
difficult habit to break. We need
to give reformed users a chance to
redempt themselves. If we took that
away from them, then what hope do
they have of being recovered?

In the end, everyone is aware of
what drugs do to you. When she was
approached by a dealer/friend and
asked "Do you want to buy some of
this?" She could of said no. But
hey, she didn't. That's her bad.
Just like Doherty, a waste of space
now giving youth a bad role model.

Why is it that Celebs that have
these problems seem to get massive
support? The general population of
Addicts certainly do not - in fact
often these people tend to be put
to one side, ignored and made to
feel that they are second rate
citizens. In Fact there are some
Addicts who with a little more
support would make it through -
however if that person does not
have a good GP - they often are
left for up to 6months before a
Referral to a Drug Addict Support
Contact can see them. I have
experience with this minority and
they end up like ghosts, lost
people. So no, I do not believe
that these Celebs should be
supported because then they are
being treated very much more
special than us mere mortals..

We should not feel sorry for her.
That would be a waste of are time.
She should fix herself.

I don't feel sorry for her or any
other goofball whacked out on
drugs. They're very entertaining
which is what they want. Oooooooooo
look at me,look at me, I'm drunk
and on heroin oooooo look out I'm
14 and pregnant, oooooweeeee!
They, like anyone else choose that
lifestyle. The difference is, she
has more money than most drug
addicts so she can buy more.

 Drug-crazed celebrities are hella
fun! She's having fun, why should
we feel bad for her? I like that
whacked-out bun on her head, all
the tats, and that nasal voice, and
am gonna enjoy her until she OD's.

She must be very determined to
recover herself because she is very
talented and can be a good
performer if she is willing to
change herself

compassion for anyone who suffers
with an addiction or disease.

by themselves and no we should not
feel sorry for Amy.

I use to think Winehouse was cool,
until I actually listened to her
lyrics.
I'm against druggies, and the false
pretense that drugs can make you
"feel better" or "calm you" etc.
Etc.
I agree with doowop.
Haha lawl @ that :]

She needs to feel sorry for
herself...and then get serious
help. My feeling sorry for her
won't get her any better or get her
anywhere. She knows what she is
doing and she continues to choose
that path of self destruction.

No b/c she has done things that we
don't want to happen to the ones we
love and should not feel sorry but
help them on their way to recovery

 Feeling sorry for Amy Winehouse
will not make any difference to
anything. I feel slightly sorry for
her because she is very young and
no doubt her record company bosses
have put a lot of pressure on her
to help line their own pockets BUT
they have an interest in keeping
her on the edge and in the news, so
I'm sceptical about her various
visits to rehab. I'm sure there's
plenty of money keeping her
addicted and then pretending to
clean her up....ooh I'm talking
myself into voting on the other
side now....

an alcholic.

No we shouldn't support them. That
is problem nowadays, drugs and
alcohol with celebs and they get a
slap on the wrist or going to some
posh rehab. I think I speak for
most people if she or any celeb
want help get REAL help. I don't
feel sorry at all.

Its their own fault that they do
the drugs in the first place. No
one made her do it. She knew as
everyone does that drugs are
addictive. The only person she has
to blame is herself.
