For
We Don't Let Kids Light Up, So Why Let Their Parents Hold It For Them (AKA Secondhand Smoke)? Bans Have Already Been Enacted Banning Foster Parents From Smoking Near Their Wards And From Smoking In Cars With Children. Should That Protection Be Absolute? Should The Safety Of The Child Outweigh The Pleasure Of The Adult Or Is It Restrictive Of Too Many Freedoms? This Is A Ban Vs No Ban Debate. Please Place Your Response In The Correct Column.

Look everybody I do smoke but I do not smoke in my house because of my family. I do not want to subject my family to my bad habit and I think that everybody should do the same. I know plenty of people who smoke and they do not smoke in their homes because of the same idea. So I say yes even though I do smoke.

I agree, Report says that If one of the parent smokes then there is 25%chance of their children become smoker. If both the parent smokes then there is 75% chance of their children become smoker. It should be banned.

I agree. If there is a smoker living in the house with children then the smoker should take it outside and away from the young ones or others who live in the house and have to breath the smoke.

Well many people know that smoking is not good for health, as it can cause lung cancer and still they smoke either in front of their children or at their back.

How can parents like this deadly stuff for their children and for them as well. Yes it should be banned not from homes but from offices, streets and every where because children want their parents to be with them. They don't want to see their parents die because of smoking.

So please quit smoking and live a health life if not for yourself then do it for your kids.

I agree. If you want to smoke fine, but children have a right to live in a smoke free environment.

That would be ludicrous!!!! How can the law come into my home and tell me that it's illegal for me to smoke, true, people should be more conscious about smoking around their kids, but not all people care that much.

 I'm Against it!

Too many people tend to think that smokers do not care about their health and the health of their children. Well, believe it or not, we do.

We try to eat well balanced diets, take vitamins, get exercise. We keep our homes as well ventilated as possible, open windows, have air purifiers, fans, keep smoking in certain rooms of the house only, blow it out the windows of cars with the hvac on.

We child-proof our homes, love our children and do our best to bring them up to be strong, independent, secure, happy adults.

Smoking is an addiction, but it's legal and should stay legal, especially in the privacy of your own home.

Smoking should be the LEAST of your concerns when it comes to our children's health and well-being.

Try focusing on all the drugs and prescription pills flushed in our water systems for example. Check out this site:

When you start making those kind of decisions for people what legal things they can do or can't ,in their own home you are crossing a scary line .people who smoke know its bad for them but taking away peoples right to choose is worse

If ya feel bad about smoking in your house with your children or others around, well then don't!If ya don't feel bad about it,well it's your choice and lets keep it that way.We don't need to seduce our government into dictating on how we are to make our own decisions within our own privy. Lets concern ourselves with more important issues.

I think if a man owns his home he should be able to do as he pleases there but if he has children he should think of them and smoke outside.

I, as pencil, grew up in a smoke filled environment...and I am a smoker. Personal, moral, and ethical choices led me to not smoke in my child's presence. He did not even know I smoked until he was 18. I do not agree with banning smoking I do agree with allowing each parent to follow their conscience instead. Banning this action would be quite impossible to control and what would the penalties be?
