I agree that the war should end but not until the government thinks that the enemy is no more a threat to the USA. We should just nuke that country.

Honestly, I don't know why we are even still there. I understand that we want to bring democracy to their country but don't you think that should be up to them if they want it or not?
If this keeps going I'm pretty sure we're going to have a WW3.

Darn right. I do not care how many Iraqis die as a result of us pulling out... It can go to total civil war for all I care. Not even a million of them are worth one American life.

If we can end it feeling like we've won something, then I agree.

I agree that it 'should' end - and it seems (from the public's limited view of the situation) that coalition efforts are pretty much in vain, have no long-term benefit, and are not desired or wanted by the Iraqi population.

Is this way over-simplified though?

For, against, all sides are represented here as well as win or loose.
As far as i can see nobody won this war if you can call it that and most did loose either a friend a loved one or even the spot they called home due to overeagerness .But just look at what happened in the middle east Israel is in war since it was established all little countries in Africa had or are still having heated things going on nobody even bothers to look there or intervene there for the PEACE which they also deserve just as good as we do in the so called civilized world .
And everybody slept safe as it was on the other side of the world but now in Iraq nobody can sleep safely as our main staple is under fire OIL and the soaring gas prices keep you awake.
Look back and reflect what this thing got started.Yes 9/11from there it was we going to fight terrorism and while we are there we can also take out Saddam Hussein and that is what brought us where we are now in a thing called war but the worst part of it is they got it to get rolling but now it is in motion it looks more like a runaway train cause nobody will try to stop this thing,by hiding behind excuses that if we go we might loose face there or they are not up to rule themselves, who are the people that judge if someone is capable of ruling anything yes or no.
Look at Vietnam the U.S.
Was there in principle to make sure the french could withdraw from there and everybody knows what happened there you think it will be any different now?
The biggest concern is what it always is when in that region nothing more or less then securing the OIL wouldn't we be better of when the depending demand on oil could be curved towards biofuel and making that cheaper to run on then trying to secure a peace that can turn in a second into a raging fire that consumes each and everybody around.
Work on biofuel and you might get a lot more peace on a global front. When you take out the oil as a substance you need for the economy as far as i can see we are making their economy healthier than the one closer at home by paying whatever they want to charge the civilized world and all they have to put up is it is WAR in Iraq so we pay and they have another in a tight squeeze.

If the Iraq war continues, World War 3 will soon follow it, as there is nothing left for the military to accomplish. Saddam is dead, as are his children. Let the country decide what's best for themselves instead of trying to push our views and government down their throats. All it's doing at this point is killing innocent people and taking mothers and fathers away from their children, sons and daughters from their parents, and husbands and wives from their spouses. Let it end!

I am against war and terror. The war must end now between the ghost and terrorist. It is time for a change. Nothing comes good from war for both parties, all have negative consequences

The war should end. IT has caused us to be tarnished in the world eye and that is affecting us in the export/import business. Our kids have died, our country was united after 9/11 and now because of this war it is split down the middle...we must be done with it and unite again.

I feel that spending more troops and money in Iraq is a serious mistake. The money would be better spent on alternative energy. That is a serious issue that must be addressed anyway. Why spend more money fighting for a lost cause. It is pointless to impose democracy on a people who don't believe in it. I truly believe that if we solved our energy crisis and stopped being dependent on oil foreign or domestic the war on terror would end.

The president doesnt know what hes doing or actually he does. Its all about greediness. That oil man will get us in trouble. I think its done and over with and that we have are men and women over dying for oil doesnt make sense to me. Pull our troops out war is for the best to benifit or country and this is not benefitng it at all.

I'm all up for the war ending however I'm totally against all forces completely leaving Iraq. What do you think will happen when they leave? I'd imagine all hell would break out.

Sadly Iraq has a history of treating minority groups with cruelty. We abandoned them once and they have not forgiven us for the deaths that ensued.
There is no easy answer when you are dealing with people with a narrow fundamentalist mind-set, intolerant of "difference" to the point where they will murder on the grounds of who a muslem believes is the Prophet's heir.

I want our troops to leave but wut about iraq history is reapeating itself if a may reming pres. Bush of the vietnam war bush needs to go.

I think the war should end when it needs to. Taking our troops out early could lead to another attack, which would be awful. The first was bad enough.

I think if they took all soldiers out of Iraq they would come here and have a war here what would you rather??

Yes I agree with you in a sense that this war should end. But I don't think we should pull out. My husband is a part of the military and if we pulled out it would be a sort of insult to him. It's like if we pulled out now then has everything that we've fought for and died for have a meaning? Or are would we be sending the message that we are a coward nation? People who join the military, especially during wartime join with the knowledge that they will be going to Iraq and that they have good chances of not coming home, but those are people that are very brave and I'm very thankful for people like that. So just remember at night that there's a soldier over there doing his job so that you can sleep safe at night!

I don't agree completely. I agree that we won the war (not the phantom *War on Terror*). I agree that the war should end and that it puts our military at unecessary risk. However, we should not abandon the mess we caused. It would be irresponsible, and we would lose yet more international credibility.
