True True True true true! There
have I said it enough! The
republicans were looking for ways
to discredit Clinton from his first
bid for prez! From his affairs to
Whitewater etc.! They got SOOOO
desperate to get this man out of
office that they attacked a
character flaw as opposed to civil
rights violations and unjust wars
like those sponsored by good Ole'
King George!
Wire Tapping, torture,
cencorship, Halaburton, Enron the
list goes on and on! The
conservatives like to question the
Moral Fiber of Liberals but with
all the scandals going on in the
White House these days it is like
an ongoing episode of 24! How soon
people forget that Clinton passed
pioneering environmental laws,
helped balance the budget, forged
peace in Ireland and Haiti and
brought prosperity in this country!
Yes he did do wrong by initiating
in sex acts with someone other than
his wife, but ultimately that is
between them and noone else! We
also forget that at the time of the
2000 elections Clinton was so
popular he would have been
re-elected yet a third time!

Yes it was. If he had done
something to endanger the country
or was incompetent, but a little
play with a buxom brunette, not
really grounds for impeachment.

Let's break this down: Clinton is a
BAD husband, but not a bad
president. He lied about sex, but
did that stop the ECONOMY from
being jacked up? NO!
Ok, Bush lies about WAR, and
GOVERNMENT SPENDING: Yes, this
harms our economy, and foreign
affairs. There you have it,
Clinton's lie may have harmed his
LIFE, but not our COUNTRY.
Let's take babe Ruth as an
example. He had sex with EVERYBODY.
But did that stop him from being
one of the best baseball players
ever, NO! He was great. Personal
life can NOT tie in with
Professional life.

Its alot to be said about the way
the government twist things and
munipulate the citizens to believe
what actions they take are for our
good, but to be truthful and honest
with you , they wanted Clinton out
of office because he gained favor
with the minorities and the so
called lower class citizens. I will
say the fact that there were
information out there leading to
the al-quida attacking the country
and no action was being taken by
our current commander in chief is
all the more reason for him to be
impeached not an extra marital
affair between God and his wife .

This is why people laugh at the
american sense of justice. You have
one president facing possible
impeachment for what should be a
civil matter ,like not paying a
fine or getting into a bar brawl.
Then on the other hand you have
george bush who has landed an
entire nation into a conflict which
will reverberate for centuries to
come.if he had pinocchios nose he
would be in jail by now as the lies
would be as plain as the nose on
his face.

Really, I don't care who he was
having sex with. As long as hes
doing a good job being the
president Hes doing his job fine.
True, cheating is a bad thing to do
but does not have to do with
anything about running this
country.

I agree with the over the top
assessment. I wonder why they
wasted tax payers money on
something so stupid like that. I
feel that if Clinton having an
affair it was between him and his
wife and not the US. He did his job
very well. If anyone should be
impeached for lying, take a look at
our current administration. I've
run out of fingers and toes just
keeping track of all the lies. Was
there any proof of a tie between
bin laden and sadam hussein? NO.
Pure speculation only. He needs to
remember that he doesn't have "the
divine right of kings". Maybe he
should look it up. Hope he sleeps
well at night. I wouldn't.

How does what bush did have any
thing to do with what clinton
did.deal with the facts as they
happened

Let's see if we can take this from
the top.
(1) All of this talk about this war
being all of President Bush's fault
is just a smoke screen. Congress
(both house & senate) voted
over-whelming to support the war,
as did 49 other countries who
supplied either troops, supplies or
helped finance the effort. There
was a concurrence even in civilian
areas. Bill Clinton even voiced his
approval of the war, not suprising
since a majority of the U.S.
Population was also in favor of it.
All parties had access to a
multitude of information from
various country's intellengence
agencies,that is except the public
and those who chose not to even
bother to look at the information
before the vote.
(2) The wiretaps were done only on
lines which numerous calls being
made to countries which were known
to be sympatheticto the terroist
cause, most of them made by aliens
both legal & illegal.
(3) Torture= playing loud music &
sleep deprivation (something most
all college students do on
voluntary basis), detained people
taken as prisioners on a field of
battle. I guess we should just slap
them on the wrist - tell them not
to do that again- then send home so
the next day they"ll have becme
reinforcements in the ranks of
al-quida
(4) Failure in New Orleans- Federal
funding was supplied, the customary
trailer type housing was provided,
as well as finacial assistence to
those who applied for it.
The real blame was a lack of
planning at the state & local
levels. The storm sat out in the
gulf churning it's way toward the
city for a couple of days before
making landfall. This all took
place in 2005, at some point in
time people have to help
themselves.
(5)The firing of the U.S.
Attorneys. Not much to say here,
the Bush administration fires 8,
the Clinton administration fires
93.
You do the math--DUH!
(6) Terry Schiavo case- Well let's
see, the president signed into law
a bill that was approved by both
the house & senate. I think that's
one of the things listed in the
Constitution as a job that's
required by the president.
Now that get's us to the subject of
President Clinton and what he did
in office. You seem to have
forgotten the troops being sent
into Somalia, without not so much
as a question being raised to
congress for advice & consent. That
turned out real well didn't it.
Seems like the real issue that you
stated was the only thing that
occurred during the Clinton
administration was happening at the
same time. Just a coincidence i
guess, he really wouldn't be trying
to divert the attention away from
just a little consensual sex,
especially by using the armed
forces. We all know that he holds
them in such high regard. The
little sexual indiscretion; that is
not what he was impeached for. The
president is in charge of the
attorney general's office, the
highest law enforcement officer in
the land. He was charged with lying
to congress under oath(a felony,
the Constitution says that high
crimes are the grounds for
impeachment), a spit in the face of
every judge in the country. I
remember him one morning straight
into the camera & telling the
american people "I did not have sex
with that woman." wagging his
finger in your face as he told that
lie. I don't guess we want to talk
about the fact that she was a
intern and he the president, or the
fact that people such as John
Tower, Bob Packwood and others were
sent packing for much less this.
To address another blurt in the
replies, The case that was thrown
out of court was the Paula Jones
case, for insufficient evidence. It
seems that after the congressional
hearing on impeachment were heard,
that the judge who had made the
ruling in the case fined Clinton
for contempt of court for
lying.Judge Susan Webber Wright
ruled that he would have to pay all
reasonable expenses including
attorneys' fees to Ms. Jones, also
reimbuse the court $1202.00 for
judge's travel time. Mr. Clinton
paid Paula Jones $850,000.00 seems
like a nice settlement for
something thrown out of court.

What Clinton did was lie under
oath. Which is a felony. Bush has
not been convicted of anything! I
personally agree that torture
should be used as well as wiring
tapping. The wire tapping is NOT to
spy on us, it is to look for
terrorist that is a fact! If you
mean detaining people at gitmo,
that is not illeagal. That is being
done at gitmo so the left in this
country doen't try and give them
protection under our laws which
they don't deserve. They were
captured on the field of battle not
in a shopping mall creating a
disturbance!
The president is guarranteed by
the laws of the constitution that
he can Can those judges any time he
wants without any reason. They are
appointed by the president and can
be removed by him at his
pleasure.
As far as the Katrina debacle, it
was not Bushs fault that the local
government screwed the pooch.(The
government of that city and state
were and are Demacrats). The
constitution is very clear on when
the feds can go in!
Clinton lied and was under oath
when he did it and was caught.
Never mind the example he became to
the youth of this country, an
example not to be followed. You and
others say Bush lied and he sucks
ect. Ect. Ect. But do you really
think Clinton could have handled
9/11 much less anything eles. After
all we have another example of
Clinton's failures with the
Blackhawk down debacle.
And what about whitewater and
passing up Bin laden, and his
bullying of law abiding gun
manufactures into sighning an
agreement with him or face
bankrupting lawsuits of which only
Smith & Wesson signed and only
because they were owned by a
British company. And what about
giving the N, Koreans the necessary
matierials to make a nuclear
weapon, and selling nuclear secrets
to the Chinese communists, how
about sending an U.S. Expert over
to China to help them fix thier
ballistic missle program which the
Chi-Com's couldn't get to
work!?!
As a minnimum Clinton should have
been impeached, but was only
censured! He and his wife and Gore
and his wife should have been tried
for treason and convicted and give
life in the electric chair! Bush
may suck, but Clinton sucks more!

Simply lying is not enough to get a
president impeached. If so, every
president would have been
impeached.
Clinton was not impeached for
lying, he was impeached for LYING
UNDER OATH, also known as PERJURY.
To have one law for the common man,
and another for those in power is
the definition of TYRRANY.
To claim nobody is ever prosecuted
for perjury is also a lie. People
have been prosecuted for exactly
that, both before and after the
Clinton affair.
As a matter of fact, a particular
Mayor up north is being prosecuted
for lying under oath, and
obstruction of justice... And what
did he lie about? Sex.

Nxon got impeached for just one
lie. Clinton got impeached for a
sack of lies.
Both impeached Presidents were
guilty of the 'high crimes and
misdemeanors' necessary to impeach.
The Clintons should have known
better, as Hillary was on the legal
team that impeached Nixon.
What goes around comes around.
