| The Olympic Games That Are Shown On TV Only Show The Most Popular Countries And How They Compete. |
|
I think you're right, during the
Opening Ceremony which was played
live, I looked forward to seeing
Canada march in. Because of
commercials, they didn't show
Canada or a few other countries. Of
course many things are focused on
America, and I don't like that so
much because I want to see the
whole composition, not zeroed in on
one country. I wish there was a
channel that was very neutral and
showed everybody competing.

I agree and they show the most
popular ones.

 Probably, but I think Advertising
is a big fund resource for them.

 Popular games and countries mean
more advertising revenue.

Depends what country your in, I'm
in Britain and the TV coverage is
obviously, centered around British
athletes, although they also
concentrate on other popular
athletes. But why is that a bad
thing? I don't really especially
wanna see Russia anyway...

Not only that, but it depends on
the sport. Not all countries are
going to be good in all sports they
compete in. I did see a handball
game that featured Russia and some
other country, can't remember who
(but I don't think it was one of
your "popular countries", so to say
they don't show the other countries
just isn't true.

It does depend on what country
you're in as to what is broadcast.
They will broadcast what they feel
is more likely to bring them
ratings
