 Ya ... Definitely today's education
system should be changed..we should
have education system to our
interest and it could be like
bringing our skills up... And
should be oriented with the work
which we have to do in future..

It's gotten to the point where I
think the teachers need to be
taught better, so that they can
more effectively teach the
children. I've said that the next
time they go on strike, I'm suing,
because the law says that your
children have to be in school. I
think that they should have to pay
for making my child miss school.

More than basic knowledge, there is
no focus on logic and critical
thinking. Learning is more than
rote repetition and regurgitation
of a litany of facts. The fact that
you can tell someone what all the
political parties are, does not
show any understanding of what they
stand for (or supposed to stand
for), or what their major opinions
on the major issues are, as an
example.

The schools in our area only teach
what is needed to pass state
testing. My son's class is being
sponsored by a business! The
education system is in an abysmal
state and our children (and
ultimately us) suffer for it.

 The education system needs a
change, simply because we [speaking
for kids/teens here] are being
taught to memorize facts instead of
try to understand how the facts
work, especially in real life. For
example, we know what the
Pythagorean Theorem all those other
theories, definitions, and
postulates, but the problem is that
some of us don't care [can't say
'don't give a d---', unfortunately
- seemed more fitting] anymore
because we question in our minds
what its relation to real-life is.
There seems to be only competition
to pass for state exams and college
exams, when there's no longer a
drive amongst a lot of my peers to
have higher goals than to pass.
Also, the concept of homework
should be changed. It's not that I,
as a kid, feel lazy to do homework,
but we should be guided as to how
to 'research' on our work, and be
guided on how to write our papers.
Cases of plagiarism appear because
there's no supervision in the
writing of the term papers and
such. Also, the testing system irks
me. When a student fails, it's only
two-way: [1] the student is not
trying hard enough, or [2] the
teacher is not competent to teach
the content to a specific type of
student. In stating [2], I don't
mean to say that the teacher is a
bad one, only that the student/s
may have a hard time understanding
him/her because he/she may have
this different teaching method that
might fail for one type of student,
but may help another student
understand. It's like a dog
teaching a cat to bark. That kind
of thing. THAT'S WHY there needs to
also be a sectioning system that
can cater to a bunch of students
who are excellent in, say, hearing
and understanding rather than
viewing and analyzing. Mine may not
necessarily be the best solutions
on Earth, but the absolute is that
there needs to be a CHANGE in the
system. We're not robots to be
programmed with formulas as
commands, but we're humans with a
capacity to think and analyze
topics. I think that's where the
system needs to start changing.
We're kids, but we're not stupid.

I like lojikals point of view.
Critical thinking, kids thinking
for themselves, making their own
decisions should be the most
important thing. Also, when say,
history teachers give lectures on
certain subjects and events, almost
all of them are only telling part
or half of the story. "our teachers
should describe to their class
exactly what happened there. They
would include all the facts--ALL
the facts-- leading up to that
event. They should seek the views
of historians from BOTH sides of
the encounter, realizing that there
is more than one point of view on
EVERYTHING. They would then not ask
the class to memorize the facts of
the matter. Instead, they would
challenge the class. They would say
'now, you've all heard about this
event. You know all that came
before, and all that happened
after. We've given you as much of
the knowledge of this event as we
could get our hands on. Now, from
this knowledge, what wisdom comes
to you? If you were chosen to solve
the problems which were being faced
in those days, how would you solve
them? Can you think of a better
way?'"
CHALLENGE us students, teach us to
think for ourselves and make our
own decisions.

This country is in trouble. I'm not
talking about the threat from
outside – the biggest element of
which would be Islamic radicalism.
I'm talking about the threat from
inside. If we don't do something to
break the grip of these government
schools, and the teacher's unions
that run them, we are going to lose
this entire country to ignorance.
We are going to continue to churn
out generations of mind-numbed
government subjects who can readily
identify the faces of the current
pop culture, but who couldn't tell
the vice-president from the speaker
of the house if their iPods
depended on it. The answer is
competition. We need school choice.
Only competition will drive these
schools to strive for excellence.
If the teachers union is against
school vouchers, we should all be
for them.

 Yes obviously the education system
should be changed. Now a days
everybody needs a student who is
skilled. Along with the academics
some extra skill is also required
like soft skils,english speaking
sills etc and that should be
provided. Emphasizing more on
subjects is not much needed in this
competitive world. There should be
complete personality development.

message.

They should make it more laid back
and not so military style maybe
college style, and no homework. If
the kids have to be at school
everyday. That means that they go
to bed early, get up early, and go
to school for 6 hrs. Or whatever it
is. That by itself is a great
achievement , then the rest of the
day should not be ruined by
homework.
