| Which Is Better? The Films Or The Books? |
|
Movies are edited, so they can
never be faithful to the book

The books are the best, according
to my brother. They're fare more
accurate than the movies depiction
of their stories, so quite frankly
I stick with books. They hold much
more detail and emotion to them
than the movies ever could.

The movies are all right, but until
I read the books, I didn't realize
how much they left out... YAY
BOOKS!

 Books are better because movie
directors tend to leave a lot of
important stuff out and put stuff
in that didn't happen in the book!
You can use your imagination while
reading, like I imagine what the
characters look like etc. But....
I love movies too.

I think that books are WAY better
because they give much more detail
and are more original than the
movies. Harry Potter is a great
example.

OH YES, BOOKS ARE IT IN MY
BOOK...pun intended...lol Your
creative mind can work in so many
different ways compared to watching
movies. Your mind creates a real
place, creates real faces and
sometimes you actually become part
of the book....

Books help you understand both the
big picture and the subtle nuances
of a story.

99.9% of the time the book is
better. The movie can't capture
what is happening in the minds of
the characters the way a book can.
And a great writer makes you see it
in your mind.

I usually find the books to be
better than the movies

Books allowed the author to guide
your imagination and help you see,
hear, smell, touch and feel the
action and the meaning of the book.
The reader can interpret the book
directly. Not so with movies,
where other people interpret the
book for the viewer. There is also
the advantage of slowing down and
let it sink in, when reading the
book.

Of course the books are better.
They more detailed more in depth.
You get more out of it. The movies
always leave things out or cast an
actor you doesn't fit the profile.
On more than one occasion I've been
seriously disappointed by the
movies after reading the books (the
biggest one being The Sisterhood of
the Traveling Pants, horrible).
Something the author of the books
don't even like the outcome of the
films. In one of the Princess
Diaries books Meg Cabot wrote about
the movie from Mia's point of view
and said how ridiculous it was
since they killed off her father
(who was still alive) and then in
the second one forced her to marry
someone for the crown or something
and in the book there was no reason
to do that.
Books are pretty much always
better, with the exception of The
Notebook by Nicholas Sparks, that
might be the only movie I like
better than the book. But that's
seriously a rarity and my love for
that movie is no match for my
disgrace for what they did to The
Outsides, my all time favorite book
and I hate what they did to it with
that horrid movie. Black!

Books , Books , Books because they
make you visualise on your own and
movies they put their visualisation
and impose that to you ..

Books are better because you get to
use your imagination in a way that
you can't do when you watch a
movie. You get to decide how you
think the characters should look
and sound and I really like that.

 Books Books Books... The "movie"
unfolds in your mind. Often times,
there are more details!

 Books are definitely better than
the movies cuz you can imagine
about the characters of the story
in a unique sort of way through
your own
perception.....................wher
eas in movies you only get to see
the director's point of view in an
edited manner.

Books are always better because the
line of reality can be severally
crossed and the story will still be
believeable.
With movies they have to recreate
the seen and it's hard when the
line of reality is crossed.

Love the books ... My imagination
on my timeline!

I love the books. They're better
because they can exercise the
imagination. When you watch a movie
it's like the directors are saying
you have to imagine this or that.
So I would go with the books.

Books and movies can't be compared
the same way...
Books are much better because it is
basically your imagination that
drives the book... It's you who is
experiencing the book and no one
can influence it...
Films are different... Filmmakers
have to alter the book so that it
will work on the screen and fit the
budget and time limit.
It's just not the same

bit for the imagination.

I like movies as long as they are
well done. Would
you want to read about
Fred Astaire and Ginger Rodgers
dancing across the
floor or see them dancing in a
movie? I love books but sometimes a
picture is worth a thousand words

Films are better than stories. They
bring all the imagination into
reality.

I don't like to read fictional
stories. I see it as a waste of
time. I will watch a fictional
movie for 2 hours because it does
not impede into my time as much as
a book would.

I like a good movie, books bore me
and I want to rush through it and
skip parts of it to get done with
it.

 The Books are better. One's
imagination can be enhanced through
reading. Also, most films are based
on novels or books.

I love both! Sometimes a good
movie will make me want to read the
book. I always get more from
reading because my imagination is
beyond anything Hollywood can come
up with. However, I have some
wonderful memories from movies that
I am not sure I would have gotten
from the book. A movie as inane
as "Turner and Hooch" would not be
very interesting as a book but the
scene of Tom Hanks having a tug of
war with Hooch with a chew toy in
his mouth is a priceless piece of
cinema.
