Part of my issue is probably that I'm not crazy about dating, in general. I love people, and I love being social, and I have loved being in love, but it's so difficult to really get to know someone in the beginning of dating. It sounds cliche, but I would like to date someone I would have as a best friend also...
In that case, someone who is balanced and varied in their interests, (education to physical acticites to (?) ), who has similar basic beliefs about the goodness of life, people, and the world (positive), someone who has a tender heart, and who doesn't take themselves too seriously all the time(can laugh and enjoy the lighter side of life). I think it would be great to have someone who can truly be spontaneous-- I am not much for planning most of the time, though I can do it if I must. I like to be able to go where the mood, day, and need takes me, for the most part. I would be one to check out some possiblities for a vacation to get a general idea of where we could go or what we might be able to do, and say "let's go on vacation to ________, and we will figure out what we will do exactly when we get there". I couldn't date someone who was really rigid about schedule and would get all uptight if we got off schedule or didn't do exactly the plan.
The basic things are important, trusting and trustworthy, intelligent (thinking), with self confidence, awareness and esteem... ZSOmeone who enjoys PDA, just because I'm a physcially affectionate person (not over the top, but I love the physical affection part of a relationship) Physically attractive and sexy, of course-- I can't really say what that would be except being fit and taking care of yourself physcially is important...
Do you think there is a person like that?

Sure, there must be a person or two who would meet your requirement, but maybe not many.
To be honest, I think your standard is higher than average, but I can understand that you are a sophisticated, intellegent lady, natually these would be equivlant conditions to your date.
Be social, intellegient and physically attractive, these three things always not go together unfortunately. God (if there is a one) normally not give everyone all the three.
The beginning of date is always awkawd, but also exciting, because each of you try to show your best sides and try to know others more. Its like hiding and finding game (for me).
Amore, how about starting to go out with some one as a friend (maybe not the best friend, or maybe not the one who can meet your stardard, but the one who cares about you, who knows your value), i think its worth to try, what do you think?

I don't like to call getting to know someone dating. My ideal way into a relationship is having a guy friend turn into something more. I look for a guy that's tall (6'2 and over), funny, understanding, nice, motivated/determined, and respectful. They have to be able to work with who I am cuz I had a crazy past and also I'm a little goofball : D

Wow, this could turn into another personnels site.I am looking for someone who still has integrity. I used to know this man who could have bought a house with just his word and a handshake. ...Now that's integrity. Looks are OK but I need that Honesty factor. When we say "I do", it needs to be forever ! By the way, that man asked me to marry him, but he passed away before we could. .... Well I am hopeful there is another out there for me.

Yes, I am single. I have just recently become friends with a few guys and I've learned to like it. I think being friends first sets a good foundation to be boyfriend and girlfriend. I am looking for someone who is not necessarily smart, but intellectual. Someone who can be sensitive but can be funny and free-spirited too. Someone that can be trusted and someone that can trust me. Someone that isn't afraid to speak his mind. And someone that can be open minded.
