I have the same problem with my husband. He had quit smoking before we even started dating and as soon as he felt stressed at work and with our marriage he lit up again. I have tried to help him quit and he has reduced his smoking significantly, but it is hard on him having none of his childhood friends around, because we moved halfway across the US so we have no friends or family here.
He isn't allowed to ever smoke in the car or in the house. Basically, he never smokes anywhere me or the baby are. He knows what it does to us if he does.

Hi, hikarichan, your husband sounds a responsible person. I hope you can work out your relationship.
And I am sorry to hear that u dont hv any friends nearby, but you can make efforts to make new friends! Be positive.

Lovelyme, does your boyfriend want to stop smoking?
That would first be necessary. But there is a stop smoking drug on the market in the US under the brand name of CHANTIX. It is not a nicotine-replacement drug, but is highly effective in a 12-week regimen, and proven safe. I have heard many success stories, and am using it myself to quit. I don't know if it is available in UK or not or if your boyfriend would be willing to try it, but it has been a very positive experience for me.

Really? Amore, thats great to know, thank you so much.
I think i will "force" him to have a try :) if there is any here. You know, he started smoking since he is 13 something, so even he is young, he has been smoking for 12 years, its really difficult to get him quit although himself has tried a lot. Nicotine gum has done no good for him after chewing for a month, he got dry mouth and sore throat...
But hope this one will work, thanks again for the advice!
