I want to propose to my girlfriend later this year but am stuck for really good ideas on how to do it... I want it to be original and a surprise but without being corny, has anyone got any good suggestions?

oh, jabbahutt, you are so sweet, and your girlfriend is so LUCKY! how about two of you going to China and climbing the Great Wall, and you can arrange two local people holding a big flag on top of the Great wall in advance, with the big words :"***, would you marry me?". i am sure she would be amazed by that!

Oh thats a good original idea Lovelyme, but I think i'm looking to do it a bit closer to home, China is a long way to go, but I agree that would be a fantastic way to propose..
I have considered taking her to Paris for the weekend and doing it there, but i think Chinas a tad too far, but thanks for the input.

you are welocm, jabbahutt, paris is a romantic city for proposing, but because its so romantic, many people have tried that and its difficult to be original. How about you jumping from the towel with a superman custum? but please be careful! i dont want you to get injuried before propose. oh, i have another idea, how about propose on the airplane to paris? You can ask the air staff to help you by announcing your propose?! or ask them to bring your girlfriend to the staff rest room and you propose there?

Jabbahutt. You are such a romantic at heart, and I agree with LM that your sweetheart is so fortunate!
While there are infinite possibilities for a unique proposal, I think what will make your proposal even more romantic and meaningful is considering the very unique things you have shared and do share as a couple. Think back: what things/moments are only yours as a couple to claim? Remember your first meeting? Your first joke? Your” firsts”, in general? Maybe they weren’t firsts, at all, but key moments along the way, where now can you just look at each other now and remember, or giggle, or give each other’s hand a squeeze. Was there something special or especially memorable about those times?
For example, remember the first time you met, kissed, or said I love you to each other, or found out something really funny or sweet about each other? Can you remember what you did, where you were, what music was playing, who was around, what you ate, what was said, what she/you wore, etc.? I am talking about the moments you remember fondly together—those that are unique only to the two of you--and that nobody else would probably “get”—they are the moments your inside jokes are based on, or the charming things you both know about each other that no one else does. Are there favorite books or songs or places the two of you share a love for?
Now your challenge is to consider weaving these into your decisions about where, when and how you will propose and ask her to spend her whole life with you. Without divulging too much or getting too personal, maybe you could give us some hints and point us in the right direction, so we can help you create a good plan.
And congratulations!!!!! I am so happy you both have found the love of your life!
We wait to hear back from you...

I agree with amore01. Also, incorporate some things she loves.
