I had twins a year ago and I’m still trying to lose the extra weight from my pregnancy. No results so far. I`m 5 ft and 5 in, 176 lb and need to lose 30 lb or more. Being a housewife makes me moderately active, right? I want to start a fitness program but I don`t know how much I should exercise daily. I’ve tried all kinds of diets and none worked as I expected. I feel something doesn`t work right, but what? Any suggestions? Please help. My husband treats me different too.

idea to
start a fitness program. I suggest you start by running 20-30 minutes before
breakfast and walk for 30 minutes after dinner. Also, you need to keep a track
of how many calories you burn. To lose weight, you need to eat less calories –
or burn more. Watch what and how much you eat too. Use a diet and fitness
planner - that`s how you know how many calories you burn and how many you eat.
You can find a free diet & workout planner at http://www.projectweightloss.com .
They also have nice weight charts that show you when you crossed over
the calorie limit you need to stick to. Good luck!

The first place to begin (assuming that you wish to do this yourself without outside help) is to resolve to throw out everything in your cabinets that is not good for you. Toss the chips, chunk the candy, the birds will love the cookies...you know what needs to be done. The trick is to convince yourself that you can do without putting the trash in your mouth. Now, go to the store and buy some things that are good for you, keeping in mind that even too much of a good thing can be bad. Try some sugar free cookies, Russell Stover makes some reallty good sugar free candy. You can purchase baked chips instead of fried. Read labels!!
Another trick that I like is to fool the eyes & stomach. Use a smaller than usual plate. Put your food on it and your eyes think that you are eating an entire plate of food. Before you begin your meal..drink an entire glass of water. This fools you stomach into thinking that it is full. Besides, most pople do not drink enough water to begin with and you must have water to stay healthy.
If you eat out a lot, try the "take home box" method. The minute you food arrives, ask for a take home box. Put 1/2 the food immedicately in the box, do not wait until the end of the meal. Do not eat after 8 o'clock....but if you absolutely must, remember that fruit is your friend...in moderation. Bananas are pretty heavy in the calorie department.
Exercise does not have to entail a gym or even running. Sometime your health will not allow running or jumping jacks etc. In the beginning (if necessary) do some chair exercises. Those are exercises that can be done from a sitting position. Holding a can of food in each hand raise and lower your arms over your head from the sides and from the front. Don't forget to turn your hands over from time to time, this exercises different muscles. Try lifting your body off the chair by bracing your hands on the seat part of the chair and pushing up. Raise and lower your legs. Clasp your hands behind your head and raise your arms as high as you can. You will be able to come up with others. Once you get started the chair exercises and feel comfortable you can progress on to more strenous and vigirous exercise. As with any unusual activity, be sure you have your doctors approval. He may well have a pamplet that he will give you to help with exercise and a possible diet plan. You really do need to be sure you do not have a medical reason for a large weight gain.
You do not have to have lettuce at every meal. Try not to deprive yourself of the things you enjoy. Keep in mind, however, the amount of it that you are eating. Limit it to a small amount and only then on occasion. You can sabatoge a weeks worth of good losses with a week end of eating. Why would you want to have to loose the same weight twice?? It's hard enough the first time around.
When you do have that failure (and you will). Don't beat yourself up too badly. Just remember that you did not gain the weight in a week or even a month and you will not loose it that way either. Pick yourself up and begin again...just don't let it become a habit. You can do this if you will desire it. Saying it and doing it are often 2 different things. But when you want it badly enough it can become a reality if you just don't become discouraged. You can do it -
